This is unreal, it still feels as if he is just starting his career-- he wasn't even on the last tour to NZ and in that time has scored 18 centuries!! He is now within striking distance of Lara (19 tons) and Ganguly (22 tons), long considered to be the greats of the ODI game. I think Kohli is on track to easily become #2 (ponting has 30). Can he beat tendulkar's 49?

Stats of Tendulkar when he was 25/26 (Jan 1st 2000): 229 Matches, 8517 Runs, Ave: 42.85, highest 186*, 24 hundreds and 44 fifties Kohli: 126 matches, 5277 runs, ave 52.24, highest 183, 18 hundreds and 28 fifties Tendulkar had a slow start to his career (stats are still insane though). but Kohli's average is unreal too, especially because he bats in the top order (so it isn't inflated by artificial not outs) and because he has maintained it for a long time now.

I wondered if we will ever get to see another remarkable player like him ever again. Well Kholi is no Tendulkar, but he is as close as another Tendulkar we will get and not to mention from the same soil

Infact even Waugh was in the hunt.He did get to 18 100's in the end though but a bit too late :winky:
