What Kind of a captain would call his bowlers brainless in public/media?

this is all talk .i would like to hear these new ideas' date='no captain is going to magically change the fortunes of the team when any bowler we select cannot bowl a single over without bowling atleast one bad ball, you just cannot set fields to our bowlers when they are so wayward.[/quote'] It is the most convenient thing in the world to always just blame every Indian bowler as being bad. But that is a symptom and not the disease itself What you need to ask yourself is, why do bowlers like BK, Shami, who come with a bang into international cricket and dazzle in the first few matches, suddenly become bad? They were not bowling one bad ball in their first few matches? What changed? Are they being made to do something which is not natural to them? Being made to bowl one side of the wicket? Being made to alter their length to save runs? Being used so erratically that their form drops off? I suspect all of the above. When they burst into the team, most of them show natural talent and are admired even by experts outside of India. What makes them become ordinary so soon? What changed BK from a genuine attacking wicket taker, who looked like taking wickets every over to being a trundler who just wants to save run? Why did he shorten his length? You can keep on blaming the bowling till the cows come home, but someday you have to ask why the richest board in then world, with a captain who has the power to chose who he wants, has failed to unearth or develop a genuine bowling talent for years. Contrast this with batting when batsmen are not only given a longer rope, but also made very comfortable with their own style of batting. No one forces them to score faster or play a certain way. And captain cool never criticizes his batsmen even when they fail In the end a defensive captain will never be able to nurture or groom agressive bowlers. He will only use them as a defensive option. As a result their line and length and their wicket taking abilities will also go for a toss. And then leaking runs, while doing something which doesn't come naturally to them will also not be far off

India vs WI at the Oval after 19 overs-WI-102/1 great start by pace bowlers:winky: after 46 overs- 182/9
i can also bring one off matches to prove that Umar Akmal is the best batsman after Bradman

Don't u remember Sir Jadeja's 5 wicket haul against WI?..u r saying Indian pace bowlers are crap' date='and can't win a match without some help from spinners.[/quote'] O bhai, everyone has to contribute. It is a team game. We do not have bowlers who will take 5-fers. Even if a single bowler does not do well, we will suffer whether a spinner or a fast bowler. There was a lot of help for spinners in CT and pacers less so, still they did contribute. Even here, there is not much help for pacers and less so for spinners, still pacers have got wickets, gave initial breakthroughs, some bowled economically like BK, spinners have struggled and they bowled mostly in middle overs which is the most critical phase.

Only thing that has changed is when BK took those wickets in WI, he was bowling on bowler friendly wickets which had swing, seam and bounce. On flatter wickets, he struggled even in that phase (Rajkot vs Eng 7 overs 52 runs, Cardiff vs SA 7 overs 49/2, did not play on a really flat Kingston track in WI vs SL where they hit 350). So the performances against Aus and now in NZ on flatter wickets was a continuation of that. Give him a bowler friendly wicket right now like the ones in WI and he will be equally deadly again. In any case going by Dhoni's PC, both Bhuvi and Shami are a certainty for the WC (defended both of them saying they had an one off series) barring any injuries.

Aakash Chopra ‏@cricketaakash Jan 29 If four out of your top six batsmen are averaging in 20s in SA and NZ, it's slightly unfair to just blame the bowlers for the losses IMHO.

^Amazing stat. Bowler being removed just after picking up a wicket, so Dhoni believes a bowler can take only one wicket in an ODI and now there is better chance of the other bowler taking a wicket. Too much trust on law of averages eh? :wall:

He has criticised Ishant too for people saying he hasn't.After Mohali game he said you can't spoonfeed bowlers at the international level, they have to think for themselves. Here hes saying the same thing.I don't think hes targetting anyone.Just had enough of the pathetic performances

They have no discipline. The only one who had was Zaheer. They try to do something different when things are going nicely. For Aaron, he was hitting good line and length in that one over and Taylor was struggling to take singles and his last delivery, he bangs it short and wide, goes for a 4. Bhuvi does that short stuff usually now. He used to keep it tight and bowled good length when he started off but here is now trying to pitch it short at that pace. Do not bring up the field placement as most of you did during that crap over from Aaron, as CI and most Tweets were blaming Aaron solely for his rubbish length after bowling some good ones prior. Look at Steyn. That is as disciplined as one could get. He sticks to the same line and length and very rarely changes it and once in a blue moon, brings it back in, which has usually got him wicket. Our bowlers, especially Ashwin has no plan of their own. N.McCullum by no mean is crap, he should be credited for the way he is bowled. Ashwin around the wickets gets hammered as well but McCummul bowls a better line and has a good angle and does not try to bowl a wicket taking delivery every single time. We don't a good partnership in bowlers. If one keeps it tight, the other goes for plenty and all the pressure that has been build up from the other end goes kapoot. The captaincy has been pathetic but these bowlers have been uber pathetic.

To he honest....good to see dhoni being vocal than his usual diplomatic and casual statements. At the same time, comes across as pointing fingers but hope to see dhoni admit he was brainless next time he f ks up in a test
