I think Dhoni is playing too much - a wicket keeper in three formats + IPL must have very sore fingers. He must be having some kind of repetitive stress injury on his hands. He needs rest.

It's his wicket keeping style where in he likes to collect the ball below the knees. This is something that even Gavaskar pointed out and it's this very thing that makes the slip fielders to stand behind. I think the absence of a proper wicket keeping technique is the reason for this.

Also, problem isn't that he is dropping. He's pretty safe behind the stumps. But, the problem that has been pointed out is intangible. You can't feel it's effect directly..

He seemed to be ok before the tour to England. From there, his keeping standards are going downhill. He may be carrying a niggle, could show up on his technique also.

Its difficult even where to begin with this man. There are very, very few Indian cricketers I actually genuinely hate but Dhoni is one of them. Hate him and everything he stands for. A player of limited talent who has led India to some of the most humiliating defeats but retains power only because of his boss. In turn Dhoni spits at the Indian cricketing fanbase with his decisions and obnoxious excuses. The day Dhoni quits cricket will be one of the happiest days in the history of Indian cricket. Till then we will have to endure this parasite continuing to chew away any modicum of respect Indian cricket has. **** you Dhoni.

dhoni has castrated the team. its like a dog or bull with its b alls taken off.. it has no fight, no aggression, no desire. the team is set for great things but dhoni and ishant are the two obstacles and reasons we lose test matches

I admire Dhoni for his leadership and backing ( even the wrong) people in his team. IMO, he is lacking in 2 places - confidence and flexibility. In 1st test vs NZ, he did not believe that we could chase down 50 odd runs with him and the 3 bowlers. That was lack of confidence in his abilities. He might have still failed, but i would have liked to see him grind it out, farm the strike and see where it goes. To me, that was a bigger failure than the 2nd test. Lack of flexibility is evident by keeping the same team on the pretext that "we do not want guys to loose confidence if they are dropped". this is the lamest argument. What about teh confidence of those who are warming the bench? You are representing the country and someone needs to build up your confidence? Should be on Comedy circus. Lack of flexibility - as well as athleticism. Like pointed above, should have moved up when edges falling short. I would love to see Sanju Samson even if he is raw in his place. That will surely build his confidence!

Dhoni's shelf life as captain was over long time ago but what the hell is coaching staff doing? Commentators are pointing out these very obvious blunders in selection, strategy, batting order, and resources management and yet we haven't seen any action. Maybe Dhoni is the ultimate decision maker, but I cant believe coaching staff can't convince him to start fixing obvious flaws. Sacking Dhoni alone wouldn't fix everything, the entire coaching staff also needs to go!!
