They are in different teams but "PLAY" for CSK :giggle: Another stellar erformance by Mishra ..I would play him as one of the two spinner everytime against teams like Pakistan,Australia ,SA and England - teams which struggle against decent wrist spinners.:icflove:

Jadeja cannot be kept put. he is a very decent batsman. very very good fielder and more than a decent bowler. he fills the all rounder space for India. dropping him is foolishness. Obviously we need one lead spinner and that looks Mishra at this point of time

If he had taken more than a wicket in nz in the second test we would have won.who said fast bowlers have to win matches overseas ok , bhajji took 6 wickets last time we won here. Not a knock but both asswin and jadeja have been horrible recently .

Yes he could be our spin captain the way dhoni treated zak - that is how he should go about it with Mishra as well. He isn't all that one-dimensional the fellow has variety and he will get u returns across formats. He should if the pitch demands so learn to bowl slightly quicker too - am sure all in good time though.

This whole 'bowling captain' concept seemed like an excuse to keep Zak around. You don't need a 'bowling captain'' (whatever the heck that is), you need a captain who talks to his bowlers and sets them the field they want.

Agreed. Specialist spinner should be Mishra, Jadeja get's in as an all rounder. 3 pacers should be selected based on bowling ability only, rather than compromising bowling ability to try and throw in a pseudo all rounder (B. Kumar, for example). Whoever our 3 best pacemen are should be selected (Shami seems to have cemented his place as one, Aaron and Yadav are potential choices for 2 and 3 although we need to start giving Pandey some games to see if he's got it in him to be in the World Cup XI).

true but he got a wicket or two in the previous test if im right and in the odis. he needs to improve by quite a bit but i fully back him as an all-rounder right now. He tries and seems to have matured a bit, wants to get india more wins. And its been known for so long that fast bowlers win the matches, especially overseas. A guy like mcgrath who could bowl and take wickets anywhere was invaluable. We need guys who can do that and to do that, you need to pick pacers that can actually amount to something. Picking ishant and zak is useless and a disgrace to any young, able fast bowler out there in india. Bhaji taking 6 wickets wont happen always, he's a legend. We need to be patient with our current lot but the pacers should be taking wickets overseas regardless. Pacers: shami, yadav, aaron, bhuvi, pandey, pankaj, kulkarni, awana, suyal - just to name a short few.

Going by his showing , I feel that amit Mishra is going to be an x-factor during World Cup 2015 in ANZ..traditionally , wrist spinners have always done well in Australia, due to large grounds and good bounce of the wicket ..Laxman Sivaramakrishnan , Warne,Macgill and Anil Kumble in later series had done well:two_thumbs_up:
