vamos_rafa Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 With smith retiring yesterday, this question came to my mind. How would you compare the 2? Both have almost similar records and played an aggressive/unconventional brand of cricket. Sehwag maybe had more range of shots but Smith always made the tough runs. His record in the 4th innings chases is legendary and back to back 200's in England were phenomenal. Also, he captained for almost a decade and yet an average of almost 50.

Hew might not be as entertaining as Sehwag, but as I wrote in the OP, he outscored others when the chips were down. Maybe its also got to do with the varying roles they both played in their respective teams.
