Cricket Australia said Thursday a final decision on his inclusion in the squad is yet to be made and that his scheduled departure Sunday to Bangladesh may be delayed. Johnson is receiving treatment in Perth for the infection, which developed from a cut following the third test against South Africa in Cape Town. The 32-year-old Johnson led Australia’s 5-0 Ashes home whitewash of England and then the 2-1 away victory over South Africa. CA’s chief medical officer Justin Paoloni says the 32-year-old Johnson will be monitored closely over the next two or three days “until we are happy that the infection has resolved and his toe fully recovered.â€

Hardly, Faulkner is pretty average in T20, Mitch is a massive loss though. That said we should rest him, T20 is mickie mouse compared to test cricket, we need him playing test cricket.

"We have given Mitchell as long as we can but unfortunately his infection hasn't responded to the treatment as quickly as we had hoped with swelling remaining in his toe and foot. "It is difficult to say how quickly the infection will take to resolve and due to the high risk of infection recurrence with a return to bowling we feel it is in the best interests of Mitchell's health for him to continue to receive intensive treatment in Perth."

JourneyMan Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 He's an amazing bowler, but I don't know if he would be as dangerous in the 20 over format as he is in tests. In fact, even in ODI's he isn't as dominant. If Kings XI think he's going to be running through line-ups as he was in Australia and SA, then they better think again.
