The Realist Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Believe it or not, the captain is yet to score his maiden half-century in T20 Internationals having donned the blue jersey in 43 of the 46 matches that India has played so far. Sounds weird but Dhoni's aggregate of 772 runs is most by any batsman without a single fifty in T20 Internationals. He had 100+ SR at every batting position + he played more than 75% times at #5,6,7. avg of 39 at #4 bw... phir kehtey ho why Pakistanis r never happy with Misbah...
zep1706 Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 One good thing about MSD is that he is not running after personal glory. If he wanted a fifty he would have come in early and scored one. It's no big deal, doesn't really matter to him.

I think his wait and take it to final overs strategy is a big NO for t20 game. I remember he lost us a game which Kohli set up for us beautifully vs NZ. We ended up losing by 1 run.

He has problems starting the car.... While its true he comes in at 5-6 most of the time. He has played 43 matches. No 50 is a disappointing rate of return whichever you look at it. I would not be bothered too much about the lack of 50s , but i dont think he has won any man of the match awards in the format either. His highest score in a winning cause is 46. To be fair to MSD he has sped up in the past 2 years. His last 3-4 matches his runs have come at a much faster rate. So he is improving his strike rate

That loss was a wounder, it was yuvi's return match from cancer and we were going to win then dhoni takes it to last over. Seeing the smirk on ross taylor's face made it even worse. Dhoni is supposed to be this beast in t20s but doesnt go for the kill in chases.

His whole thought process is messed up. Having been used to building the innings very slowly and exploding in the end in the one dayers, he is really struggling to get going . He better comes one down if he wants more time.

He better comes one down if he wants more time.[/quote'] TBH that would be the best spot for him given the conditions.....and one of the more overlooked aspects of his game is running between the wickets...He should take the initiative to bat 3 in this format given the wickets which are to his liking
