If batsman was standing deep u adjust by bowling even more fuller if he is standing 1 feet out u bowl at his feet and if u bowl like before it will turn into full toss In the end from pitch map they might seem wide and short but for batsman most of those balls were hard to hit and not just because of pace

but how does it matter where batsman is? How can it change that those were length deliveries? They were hard to hit because of pace, not because of length. Length was hittable but line was wider and at high speeds.

Dale did one thing. He kept the ball on one side. There was a teeny tiny movement he was able to get alongwith good pace. Also new batsmen mean pressure. Dale exploited the pressure beautifully. They should have tried to take a single from ball 1.

For some reason even with scrabbled seam steyn moves the ball away ..maybe it's angle and at his pace it was hard to hit it to mid wicket etc which were the strength of batsmen batting Some one like Chota mcculum could have hit those balls but leg side sluggers like ronchi will struggle

please..he was asking how our best 2 batsmen will do against steyn and i gave him example that even our batsmen like rohit have smashed him in similar situations he was chasing 10 odd no ? and hit him for six last ball it was first inning which came to my mind while reading his comment.

Steyn didn't bowl any special deliveries. They were all length balls, pretty fast ones though. Kiwis were just all over the place, swinging at everything. As said earlier, they played the bowler, not the ball.

I watched it and I personally think it was a case poor batting than great bowling. He bowled all length balls, yes they were fast but a good batsman would have smacked them out of the park.
