Haarkarjeetgaye Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 West Indies has to win against pak Pak has to win against windies and Bangladesh If they lose to Bangladesh they have to beat windies by huge margin which is impossible almost at this level not really as I said, if Bangladesh beat Pak, then WI have to ensure just a minor loss to Pak. their run rate is good. This is assuming either Aus or Bang win 2 my second scenario. Then there will be a 2 way tie between WI, Pak , Ban or Aus. Windies will go through on a better NRR. So Windies dont really have to win against Pak. They will know that when they play. The best scenario is my opinion would be given the games coming. On 30th March Bangaldesh Beat Pak( if not then other matches become irrelevant and only Pak v WI is decider). Aus beat India This way on the 1st April both games will be so crucial with all 4 teams having a chance to go through. Bang v Aus - whoever wins can go through. Pak v WI - Pak wins and a 3 way tie. That will be so good and exciting for the tourney

After beat 2 of 3 major teams in its group, a place in the SF was more or less guaranteed unless Ind suffered an upset at the hands of BD However, not accounting for NRR shows a lack of planning on the management's part. A team cannot play a major tourney with such planning. Glad things turned out well for Ind in this tourney
