Every single player from the Netherlands or person from Holland ive met for that matter speaks immaculate English in addition to their native Dutch. Yet for some reason if Sangakarra or Dhoni can conduct an interview in English they are some sort of sell out :hysterical: Guys like Umar just juxtapose the difference across the border and thats why this is such a touchy subject. Players like Umar are the norm on his team whereas Jadeja are the exception. :haha: This is nothing India should be ashamed of.

This is a cricket tournament not language speaking tournament. The reporter was an Australian you can clearly hear his accent. Umar could have asked for a translator but clearly though he could handle the question like a boss :hysterical: He was too proud to come right out and say I need a translator. Fault lies with him. If I go to Japan and get asked a question by a Japanese reporter im not gonna try and use the 8 words in Japanese I know to respond. I'll come right out and confidently admit I dont know Japanese. Understandable wouldnt you say? :haha: For some reason Umar wanted to act like he was able to pull it off. Probably got lessons from Akthar and his fake quasi brit accent!!

Akmal made a fool of himself and should have done what I'd do if asked a question in German. "Sorry can i get a translator please?" Instead of articulately responding in Punjabi/Urdu he was so self conscious and made a fool of himself.

Some of them like Wasim are extremely well spoken others like akthar Lmao... Make a fake brit accent. I think it has to do with the inferiority complex. Most of the Indian players are well educated upper class (yes I know there are exceptions) . The majority of Pakistani players are from villages in punjab (again I know there are exceptions!) American, Aussies, and other countries, etc are only imitating the british and their language is slightly diff from original queens english. It is not the Indian's speak good english or Pak's speak poor english.

It is not the Indian's speak good english or Pak's speak poor english. Everyone in Canada US NZ Australia speaks fluent English. The nuances are due to the region they live. Dhoni speaks English with an Indian accent but is still highly articulate. Well it is true that the Indian players speak fluent English in most cases whereas thats the exception in Pakistan. As I said thats mainly because most Pakistani players are from villages in Punjab and dont come from very educated families like most of the Indian players. Just compare a spinner like Ashwin and Ajmal. Ashwin is an engineer, highly articulate and well read. Ajmal can barely string together two sentences in English.

Does he have any need to? Why are Indians better educated than the Pakistani cricketers? Maybe only the rich educated Indians get a chance on the team? I rate Pakistan for giving villagers like Asif, Mohd Yousif, Aamer a proper chance. India does occasionally but not as often.
