All cricketers playing here are from ranji and proven match winner in other formats too Yes we have benefitted to play well in pressure it's clear but that is it

We haven't really had an issue on SC pitches, we always do well in these conditions. Our main issue remains overseas series, and we're still on the end of a massive losing streak there. That's when the IPL abuse begins.

they will come back and badmouth IPL when we lose some meaningless matches .. now its time to
Overseas test matches are meaningless?

Abe' date=' let's win a tourney in Eng, SA or Aus/Nz with this team and then talk. Don't cite CB series or T20 win in SA. That is so fecking old!!![/quote'] CT 2013 :finger:

Pray tell me how can IPL be blamed for not doing well overseas ? Indian team should just get used to playing overseas and get used to those conditions. Its a process and will take time as many of the players are inexperienced. Even teams with Kumble, Dravid, Sachin, Ganguly, Laxman struggled when they started out. You should note that batsmen have done superbly in both NZ, SA tours. Its the bowlers who havent done as well as they should have. We could change the nature of pitches at home to suit foreign pitches so players could adapt more quickly. But I'm not sure we should lose home advantage.

Why are you such a wet blanket danda? Do you think we have the some Avengers team playing for us that they will always end up on the winning side. Just enjoy the wins when they do well and whine when they don't ...like the rest of us. Enjoy the little victories Danda....life is short!

When the likes of Bhajji and Zak wanted to up their game, they went and played county cricket. If a bowler was really serious about succeeding overseas, they would turn their back on the cash money league and grind it out in county for a season. I would take my hat off to any Indian bowler (or even batsman) who did that :hatsoff:

Why do you think playing county cricket guarantees success in tests or foreign tours ? Back in the day, we didnt have a good domestic setup and a stint in county was considered crucial. But now we have a good domestic circuit with good infrastructure, variety of pitches, quality sportsmen, training facilities, coaches etc. India's domestic circuit is as good as any other domestic setup in the world. Also tell me if county cricket was so good, how come England got thrashed in Australia ?

-It doesn't guarantee success but it allows players to become more comfortable with different tracks. Batsmen get better accustomed to genuine pace bowling and fast bowlers can push up the pace without feeling that they're getting punished for it. It's also a good coaching/training opportunity (you can get this in India as well but you don't get to implement what you learn on dead tracks) -It doesn't have to be county, it can be in Australia or SA as well. -We don't have any genuine pace bowlers in India (sad but true). There is no way you can prepare yourself for 145-150 kph deliveries on bouncy tracks by playing Ranji, neither as a bowler nor as a batsman. -The same England defeated Australia at home only a few months before that

Indian batting talent + exposure in bowler friendly conditions = unstoppable batsmen world over

I think what India needs to do is restructure its domestic system. Why are we playing the Syed Mushtaq Ali system trophy and the IPL? India must be the only country to play 2 domestic T20 tournaments. India need to shorten the domestic season. so lets say you play IPL April onwards. Thats fine. Why not keep the month of mid Feb March for A tours of Australia or South Africa or New Zealand? How about India has One premium first class tournament (ranji) (format stays as it is) One premium list A tournament (hazare) (Format stays as it is) One premium T20 tournament (ipl) (probably add teams to ensure more Indians get picked to starting line ups, say one day 16 teams with 5 foreign names and 6 Indians). Thats still a pool of 96 to choose from. At the moment there are just too many domestic competitions. Use list A tours with 22 man squads to weed out people in away conditions. In Mid Feb-March the IndianA team plays 5 Odis 3 T20s and 3, first class matches.

Who cares about these meaningless victories in helpful conditions? Seen it over and over again. Life is short and hence they need to show they can do the tough ones, otherwise ......YAWN!!!

++ That is what I meant. It is good they are winning in helpful conditions, but let's not forget the fact that India is a shyt team in overseas conditions and none of these are going to help in Aus for the WC and the two overseas test series coming up. Dhobi is going to go in his shell and start sucking as a kaptaan again.
