The honour was reserved then for Governor Generals and Viceroys. - Soon after being sworn in as the chief minister on October 31 last year, Fadnavis had spoken of discouraging the ‘VIP culture’ in the state.

asterix Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 I don't understand BJP tactics.. Why always it's on backfoot? It very well knows Congress is going to use Land Reforms Bill to create problems for BJP. After so many months and on top of having own Govts. in Rajasthan & Haryana, Why can't BJP investigate the Vadra Land Reforms? It's allowing the opposition, MSM, AdLibs etc. to attack BJP day in and out. Should remove Jaitley from I&B ministry... Need to have a proactive leader there... Also should focus on promoting those MSMs which favours BJP. Why doesn't it open investigations on the dealing of NDTV etc? Why it's going the Vajpayee route?
G_B_ Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 ^ agree. I dont know what taking so long on the Vadra issue in Rajasthan and Haryana. Two states which the BJP rules outright without partners. BJP needs to be a lot more aggressive. The opposition is certainly not 100% united. YSR Congress AIADMK BJD can be leveraged. BJP is losing the media war on this bill and its going to politically hurt them in the process. They maybe first need to get the ball rolling on the GST and distract attention from the land bill. I also think you need a join session to show your numerical might to the opposition. There are a lot of Congress rajya sabha members who I feel will not vote with the party line and are likely to abstain. It will put back the impetus on congress weakness.

You need a more aggressive leader for BJP in WB. Which means getting your hands bloody in a literal way. Its clear that while the TMC would have won probably, the margin of victory is down to the rigging. Exit polls have CPM on 31 seats and BJP on 6. A pathetic performance from the state BJP regardless of what went wrong. If this is the situ in kolkata you really have to wonder what the situation will be in the rural areas. In the 90 plus municipalities on 25th April i hope the bjp can capture atleast 2-3

TMC was trying to delay elections in 4 municipalities where BJP has strong presence, till next year winter. Now Calcutta HC has ordered elections within 2 months and i think BJP will capture atleast 2 of those 4. In the elections in 25th April the conditions will be same.Massive vote management.

If Congress ends up losing Assam and K'taka, Rahul will be sidelined for good. Priyanka will most likely be brought to the fore. That is when BJP will blow out the juicy bits with regards to Vardra's deals. They've already forced Vardra to shut down his companies. If they reveal stuff now, then Priyanka will simply divorce him. There will be no leverage. Jaitley won't be a deterrent with regards to this.

G_B_ Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 BJP wins 33 out of 38 seats in Gujarat local body by-polls Giving a jolt to Congress, the Gujarat unit of the BJP won 33 out of 38 seats in by-elections of various local bodies of the state, including two seats of Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) and 31 seats of various municipalities in the state. Counting of votes and results of by-polls held in these 38 seats were declared today by the Gujarat State Election Commission. Apart from wining two RMC seats, BJP candidates won 31 seats out of a total 36 seats in elections to 11 municipal bodies on April 19, stated a release issued here today by the Election Commission. The statement of results stated that the Congress secured four seats while one independent candidate also won in the by-polls. "Before this election, BJP has six seats in these 11 municipalities. Now, it has reached 32. On the other hand, the Congress has been wiped out. The Congress used to have 27 seats before this election, which has now came down to four, since it failed to retain its seats," Gujarat BJP's media convenor Harshad Patel said. Meanwhile, Gujarat BJP president RC Faldu congratulated BJP candidates who won by issuing a press statement. "These results showed that people have rejected the negative politics of the Congress and endorsed the development based politics of the BJP. As elections for various local bodies is approaching, this result has boosted our confidence," Faldu said. After conceding defeat, the Congress remained defiant and stated that by-election results are not the right parameter to judge the mood of people. "Results of by-election are always in the favour of the ruling party, since they make use of government machinery and muscle power. We are not at all moved by this result. We are confident that we will be victorious in the forthcoming local body elections in the state," Gujarat Congress spokesperson Manish Doshi said. http://www.dnaindia.com/india/report-bjp-wins-33-out-of-38-seats-in-gujarat-local-body-by-polls-2079482
asterix Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Opposition clearly working on projecting BJP as a party favoring Rich... Proper screw up by BJP. Too much focus on Foreign affairs, Foreign Investment etc. Should've doled out packages to affected farmers. The Farmers suicides continuing...

BeautifulGame Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 ^ In Indian Politics' date=' no body cares what's done in first 4.5 years.. last half year matters..[/quote'] Thats just not true .Remember Jaya govt in 2001-2006? She did very well after 2004 LS polls .But still lost becoz of her rule in 01-04. Negatives image will last much longer than any positives done in last 6-12 months
asterix Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 they need to control the media narrative They are not doing it... Either became too overconfident or inexperience in Central Governance.. I'll blame Modi... He's not constituted his team properly, living in his own World, trying to things which aspired a lot, wearing good suits, traveling abroad...
G_B_ Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 There is certain truth to what Deto says Maybe not 6 months but 2 years or so. the first three i guess are ok. Obviously it differs as per states. TN appears to be more politically active and dare i say literate than places like Bihar and UP.

He's not constituted his team properly, living in his own World, trying to things which aspired a lot, wearing good suits, traveling abroad... Its not that simple. You need money for example to change the media narrative your way The BJP might just be hanging on to its money , to be spend in times of need. Secondly we are looking at the English narative. The marathi narative for example in papers like Maharashtra Timea and Loksatta or even news channel likes Star Manjha etc definatively anti congress for example. The problem with the land bill for example if even sections of the BJP and RSS have major reservations about it. I have major reservations.
