Most of fears are already coming true. With each passing day you can't help but acquiesce to the fact that Modi's elevation would pose serious challenge to the democratic fabric of the country. I am not even going in the direction of much clichéd and hackneyed terms of secularism and communalism. I am saying basic democracy itself is under threat. This has happened multiple time in Banaras now. BJP supporters or goons not allowing other politicians to campaign. If that is not attack on democracy than what is that? There were earlier occasions where Kejriwal was hackled by BJP supporters while campaigning. Not once but multiple times. And now we have this incident which has very much been caught on the camera. You yourself see this brazen, shameless completely unprovoked act of Modi Goons. I just wonder if this is the case when Modi is only a potential PM. What would happen if he happen to become PM? My guess is there would be a serious threat to personal freedom and liberty. In a blatant display of muscle power a group of people claiming to be Bharatiya Janata Party supporters beat up Aam Aadmi Party leader Somnath Bharti during the filming of a television show on India TV news channel. The incident took place up at Assi Ghat in Varanasi on Wednesday. AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal had earlier in the day filed his nomination papers from Varanasi. Bharti's car was attacked and window panes were also broken. His driver was also attacked. After getting first aid, Bharti, former Law Minister of Delhi, went to Bhelupur police station to register a complaint. AAP's Varanasi coordination Ramanand Rai said, "Somnath Bharti went to Assi ghat for an election-related programme arranged by a channel where BJP supporters took objections to the statements made by him. Although AAP volunteers tried to pacify BJP workers, they assaulted Bharti who suffered minor injuries. They also used abusive language. Two AAP volunteers were also hurt in the melee." AAP spokesperson Atishi Marlena said, "This is not the way the cadre of a prime ministerial candidate of a party should behave." This is not the first time when AAP and BJP workers clashed in Varanasi. Last month, AAP activists had an altercation with volunteers of BJP when the Kejriwal's car was allegedly stopped by BJP workers. As the election battle hots up, volunteers of both the parties have started gathering in Varanasi to campaign for their respective parties. In the coming days, the temple town may see many such incidents as the supporters keep flooding the temple town, making the atmosphere more volatile.

The driver and his assistance were beaten up and window panes of the vehicle were broken. According to Saurabh Singh, AAP volunteer, three men stopped the vehicle and asked driver not to campaign. When the driver refused, he was attacked. Driver's assistance was also beaten up when he intervened. The three men fled the scene in a four-wheeler after the assault. However, the driver noted the registration number of the vehicle. Later, AAP volunteers lodged an FIR at the Mohanganj police station. Anyone can wear a saffron topi and become a BJP supporter and in the video it seemed they were mere pushes. I suspect it to be another donation booster drama.

While I certainly expect this kind of reprehensible behavior from Modi supporters, the fact that Kejriwal isn't lodging an FIR makes me think whether this really was an attack by BJP members.

Even in ur dreams don't u think why media doesn't get any ground reality from local residense. S##t u people, It was mass trap by media, yet u guys falling apart like chickens and ready to endorse goons.
