bulbul Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 For a lifelong BJP supporter this is the best political number ever. Yes we know BJP is part of NDA & have bigger number, still getting majority alone for first time in BJP history is something most people never dreamed. & proud of. :king:
kubrickian Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 The fact that BJP won unanimously in most states including UP, Bihar, MP shows that it won the approval of people belonging to many different castes and communities. Something that was only possible for Congress to a large extent in the past. Finally BJP has shown its a true national party because many people suspected it will be relegated only as an upper caste, Hindu community party.

coffee_rules Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 It should be Modi ~282. Atleast in Kar, the 17 seats are because of Modi. The local leaders had failed thoroughly. I am sure UP is because of Modi.

Alchemist Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 I don't think so. The 282 is because the alliance parties didn't contest from where BJP was contesting. It is very possible that if Allying Parties had their candidates in the mix too, the votes would have been divided. Example: If Shiv sena had its candidates against BJP candidates in Maharashtra, the votes would have been distributed. Not saying that BJP would have got less seats. But alliance helps in different ways than just once.
asterix Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 BJP -282 is a P-Sec's worst nightmare come true... :giggle:
bulbul Posted May 17, 2014 Author Posted May 17, 2014 The BJP’s wins were comprehensive right down to the seat level. The party won only one seat by less than 5,000 votes and won 195 seats by over 1 lakh votes. The average BJP candidate won by over 1.69 lakh votes, a good 1 lakh higher than the victory margin of the average Congress candidate
ravishingravi Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Yes. It is an emotional moment. Can't call myself hardcore BJP supporter but to see Congress walloped like this feels great.

If not... repeat the same next elections... till the fake Gandhis leave the country
Crookbond Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 ditto I hope this ends dynasty politics.. If not... repeat the same next elections... till the fake Gandhis leave the country  This election ends dynasty politics at the PM level. It still continues within the BJP too at MP/MLA levels.
bulbul Posted May 18, 2014 Author Posted May 18, 2014 This election ends dynasty politics at the PM level. It still continues within the BJP too at MP/MLA levels. MP/MLA level it's fine.....Leadership is what decides everything there we shouldn't get this dynasty End of day how can we decide son or daughter of a politician is not good enough?? Even in leadership it should have been good if candidate is really good. Unfortunately thrusting useless people in the name of dynasty is what people don't want.

I don't think it is fine at MP/MLA level either. Leadership comprises of the very same people who are from the dynasty. - it leads to a rot. Even if I say it leads to a 10% rot I don't want it. But, I understand it will be complex but that in any ways should happen. Lesser chances of conflict of interest.
