The Lankan trundler attack vs pace theory

Even Bangladeshi bowlers bowl with more interest, effort and purpose than our bowlers. As far as application and utilization of talent goes, our bowlers are even worse than Afghanistan and Holland. I get the feeling that nobody in our country has any genuine interest in the art and activity of bowling in cricket. Bowlers bowl because they cannot bat but want to be in the Indian cricket team for fame and money. Indian batsmen, on the other hand, have a HUGE interest in the art and activity of batting.
true. umesh is someone who genuinely wants to bowl and bowl fast. he is made for test cricket yet trundlers after trundlers keep getting selected. no lesson is learnt because we are content in following the age-old theory that overseas, our bowlers will keep bowling tripe and the only hope rests on the batsmen fighting for a draw. there is absolutely no desire to produce world class fast bowlers and instead keep the usual trundler tripe going on

Real hard triers, who maybe a bit short on the talent front but makeup or even outperform by effort, are often left out. I remember Praveen Amre, who played some really fighting innings including a century against Donald and co. in the 1992 SAF tour, was soon left out after our return to India, basically because he lacked flair or style. Atleast as far as bowling is concerned, this has got to change. We must look for bowlers who have interest in the art and activity of bowling and put in a lot of effort. Talent should be considered only among such bowlers.

pace has to be the criterion. you can have all the talent in the world but that doesn't mean that we keep looking for every indian bowler to be a replica of glenn mcgrath, who just bowls accurate line-and length while using his height for advantage. most indian bowlers aren't even 6 feet for gods sake. we have to find youngsters at the U-19, U-17 bowlers who can bowl fast while maintaining decent accuracy. problem is, our bowling coaches always look for the opposite!!

That is what happens all over the world. But, additionally, we must find pacers who have the interest in bowling to maintain that pace/bounce over a long time. Guys like Zaheer, Munaf, Sreesanth, Ishant ... all had pace to start with but stopped bowling with enough effort. Because they don't have interest in the art of bowling fast.

Fast bowling is real hard work. Our bowlers lack heart to put in that hard work.
That is the main reason for failures of most of our promising bowlers, Munaf, RP, ZAHEER FIRST HALF OF CAREER, SREESANTH, ISHAANT, FAST BOWLERS ARE LIKE BOXERS OR ATLEAST THE GOOD ONES, NEVER GIVE UP TAKE PUNCHES BUT AIM FOR KNOCKOUT IN RETURN, NEED PASSION, AGGRESSION, EXTREME FITNESS AND CONFIDENCE, MOST INDIAN BOWLERS LACK THIS, also then comes culture and infrastructure development and know how but , these days everything is out there if you wanna learn and even teach yourself, this is the reason Umesh , Aaron, Shami are unique as they wanna bowl fast and be aggressive and know how to take care of their body better then previous generation, Ishaant could be our spearhead but his problem is not the body but the mind.

I wouldn't read much in practice matches. I am sure most of them don't want to put in full effort and get injured, tired or something. Don't forget these guys are coming after 25 plus ipl matches, traveling etc. Lets judge them how they perform in international matches or at least wait till Derbyshire match.

No matter how much you analyze' date=' dissect.. as individuals Srilankan bowlers are pathetic bowlers. They worked as a team with good tactics aided by some ridiculous batting from England. We should never use this as a template. [b']I rate Indian pacers above this pathetic Lungan bowling any day skillwise. But generally lungans have better onfield tactics. Also they can create artificial pressure on the field with endless screaming lol. If Dhoni instructs Ashwin to bowl outside the leg to cotnain runs then we can't buy a wicket.
Take a bow lax-chu-man....you are the dumbest troll in ICF... Indian pacers are a pathetic bunch of talentless losers who are known for bowling long hops and half volleys and gifting opposing teams 500+ in each test inning and 325+ in each ODI inning....They are probably the worst pace attack out of all the test playing nations.Being jealous at your neighbours' bowling stocks and failing to give credit where its due, will not make any difference :finger:

SL PLAYED WELL AS A UNIT AND THERE WERE CONTRIBUTIONS FROM MANY PLAYERS, THEIR ATTACK WAS DISCPLINED AND CAPTAINCY WAS BETTER, Indian bowling attack certainly is better but we lack in captaincy mostly , India has won test matches everywhere across the globe as well as test series wins everywhere except for SA where they drew one and Ausralia which was Sydney gate and one series that India won in my book, SL has not won anything in test outside , maybe their first victory in England and India has won few series in England SL cricket will be going thru a slumps Sanga and too a lesser extent Jaya will leave them soon and the best talent on view as far as they are concerned was during Ranatunga n D Silva time but even they did not do anything in test away from sub continent.

i see, it's all dhoni's fault for holding back this bunch of amazing bunch of fast bowlers. dhoni is 100% to blame for india giving away 300+ in every odi game anywhere in the world.

IF we take all our catches, our bowling will look doubly stronger. NZ series (or for that the home series vs England) would have seen a different result if we had held onto our catches.
Not a great start. 188143.jpg

He was fielding at gully.
Whatever he was doing in this case .... Kohli drops almost all his catches when he is standing in the slips. Further, fielding at gully is a lot like fielding at slips.

India won in Eng with Zak' date='Sreesanth and Kumble supported by RP..this has been done before and can be done again but Zak was in some form.[/quote'] No, it was totally different. That India team had two left arm swing bowlers in Zak in his prime and RP playing the series of his life and Kumble playing the vital role of tying up one end and bowling a lot of overs and taking wicket as well. Sreesanth did his usually disappearing act. That left arm angle, especially wide of the crease where the batsmen felt they had to play the ball from RP was superb and the English batsmen couldn't pick Zaheer. Both of these bowlers not only had the best averages, but best strike rates of all the fast bowlers in that series including England's. A huge reason for that was that left arm angle. We don't have a single left arm pacer and the guys we do have are nothing special.
