Why is it so easy to rile our people up. Twitter is blowing up with Indians cussing sharapova. It was the same on the other occassions. Just makes us a laughing stock to the rest of the world

Many years ago when I moved to Aus, I used to consider our Cricket Team as one of worlds best but then someone asked me "where have you won series/tests and how often.. South Africa, England, Australia? " He wasnt rude but asked me some hard questions about our team that I never thought of in India. We also believe that we have more "Sanskar" than any nation on this planet, I know it will be upsetting to a lot of posters so I will not go into details on this one. So when someone questions us on these topics, its almost an insult.

US might have broken laws but that didnt mean that lady was innocent, the media and the people supported her to show that India can flex its muscles and even US will have to backout. In this rage of proving US wrong, they didnt question the diplomat and didnt care about another Indian (the maid) because izzat was more important than the justice.

The only reason the hue and cry was raised was because it was seen as Indians punching above their weight Secondly there is a reason laws for diplomatic immunity are in place and it does take precedent over all laws. Thirdly, Indians did NOT want her to go scott-free, only that she should be tried in India So in short, India was definitely not the exception here as you seem to be making out, it fact developed countries do this a 100 times worse. Nothing to do with izzat but setting a precedent and an Indian being Indian first and therefore liable only to be answered to the Indian government

I for one do not believe that being riled up,etc is exclusive to Indians... Now...the reasons for the PERCEPTION 1. We are a HUGE population and most of us ( in numbers ) can communicate in English...no perceptions created if your posts are in Urdu or Chinese that many don't understand 2. We are tech savvy and can use social media without much problems/intervention from government...for those of you wondering what this ********** is about, pls remember that lot of countries have bans or monitoring on Facebook,Youtube,Twitter,etc including our dear neighbor..No wonder they are not allowed to show their emotions...we should thank ourselves that India allows freedom of expression...this point is not directly relevant to being trolled but merely stating that the response to trolling is not prohibited 3. Our response to trolling is ALWAYS to TROLL someone else who is trying to troll us by our trolling response ( only 3 pegs so far so bear with me :--D )

There's nothing wrong with culture... Indians take jokes sarcasm etc quite well. And are gentle people.

Having lived in a competitive environment from school days where you constantly go after grades for recognition we expect the same in real life. Doesnt her Papa have political connections, do you really think maid's family was safe in India ? Did you even read my post or just saw "Diplomat.. US.. India" and got excited ? I am not saying India is right or US is right, the point that people missed is that an Indian abused or tried to abuse another Indian but they all defended her, not only saying that she has immunity but that she also didnt do anything wrong.
