I am disappointed with Umesh - why is he not bowling 140 to 150K which he is capable to bowl at, i truly believe that umesh can bowl 138 to 150K pace and if he cannot do that he is not required to represent Indian test 11 as his USP was PACE and if he does not have that, let him play for his state team only.

 

everyone has been criticising SHammi and shammi bowled with serious Pace during some spells and I can tell you he was UNLUCKY not to get more wickets ...when ever he bowled english batsman found the going very tough.

Shami should be fine, just needs to make sure that he maintains same intensity throughout match. In first test he was off radar and low on speed in 2nd innings, we could not see how he was in 2nd innings at Lords. So his challenge will really be to give his all in 2nd innings as well.

Shami's speeds have been good in all 3 innings.  But, in the 2nd innings of the 1st test, he was pitching it a bit too full in search of swing.  

 

In the other 2 innings, he has bowled good lengths mostly,  with wonderful lines ... and got wickets.

Siraj would be a very good inclusion, can't do worse than our current pace attack.

 

I  am in favour of Siraj and Shaw in place of Shardul and Dhawan.

Mayank's off-stump game is not good. It is important that we choose batsmen with good off-stump games for test matches.

Not generally.  He bowled about one full ball per over which invariable got hit for a 4.

Shardul has gone there just to make numbers,he was never ever needed there not much pace on offer neither does have swing..so no place for Shardul like bowlers to travel.. Siraj was bowling in red hot form,selectors need to be dynamic with their approach,they are too orthodox,they have to think beyond "pecking order" when other teams are doing it..they have left us behind

Vihari can come in place of Pujara if he fails in 3rd test as well. May be a bit harsh but no other go.

139 K average.many balls at 145k not just a one off at 145k goes to show the desire to try hard....result or no result is secondary

nonbowling arm is fine.  Only thing that is preventing him from achieving is top pace is lack of hang time.

The outswing of Rajpoot could have been so effective in the 2nd test, with 5 of the top 7 English batters being right handers.

Yeah ,u r right, ,just to hold his action a tad bit longer,u think he needs to pivot or jump a bit more or just increase hang time by itself?

Bumrah back in the team as expected  !

 

Hope he is in form ...  which is not always easy after an injury induced break.  But, he can get back in the groove by the 2nd innings.

 

In-form Bumrah and Shami bowling in tandem, in helpful conditions, can be a sight to behold for fast bowling fans.
