Speeds and Performances of Pacers and Spinners

My observation on Indian bowlers –

Bumrah – Looks fatigued and seems to have lost his exuberance. The pace is still there but is hitting the wrong lengths often. I feel the pressure of performance is getting to him.  He will get back to being the best, but needs time. I don’t believe he has lost his art. The recent IPL series is proof enough where he started rusty and went on to bowl excellent.

He needs to bowl fuller length and stick to the offside line. Needs to bounce batsmen from short of a length. Also needs to use the yorkers sparingly and keep using bouncers as a shock weapon.

Shami – The lone warrior. But as they say, fast bowlers hunt in pairs. He is struggling to find a partner who can match his excellence. Can still use more of bouncers when the pitch is not assisting much.

Saini – Low on confidence. Doesn’t look ready for a tough tour like Australia. The Aussies have been targeting him and he seems totally lost. Wrong lengths and wrong line. Pace is fine but not express. It will do him well to rest for the next match.

I feel what Saini could have done different was sticking to an offside line at fuller lengths and bowled at his quickest. A few bouncers would not have hurt his cause.

Most importantly, the management seems to be clueless. Hard to understand what is the exact role of Ravi Shastri in the team except for sitting on a chair looking totally drunk. The bowling coaches don’t seem to be passing the right feedback.

Its about time Virat Kohli takes one for the team and resign. Will do a lot of good for the Indian team because the players seem to be looking mechanical. They are not enjoying the game.

Don't know but howcome Saini hasn't clocked 150+ once since beginning of this IPL,he touched 150+ in NZ early this didn't bowl rubbish either and against SL before

He has looked jaded since the season began or

Maybe nonstop cricket from September ,a burnout cant be ruled out?not only in his case but all of them looked so exhausted for this all important tour

Whay do you think?

All the bowlers are exhausted. You just cannot have such an extended tournament before an important series like the Aussie series. Totally BCCI's fault. They cannot sacrifice international matches just because they want to make extra bucks.

But I also feel Saini has been overwhelmed at the prospect of playing in such a big tourney. He needs a mentor to guide him and someone like Ishant or Nehra will do him good. Line and length has not been Saini's strengths but I think his waywardness is getting to him resulting in a loss of 4-5k's. Its in his mind. You can almost feel he is not putting in the effort of bowling bouncers or even trying to bend his back.

Then how are you judging his height? Prasidh looks tall among Indians.

Carlos with 6'7 or 8 holder

With 6'5 polly

Thats prasidh and Andre both poor posture. But prasidh has at least 2 to 3 inches on Andre. Below carlos in shoes and prasidh in flipflops standing very wide legged. Carlos probably has 2 inches on prasidh or less.

Andre if 6'1 prasidh seems to have couple of inches on him, carlos seems to have couple on prasidh. I would say 6'3 for prasidh and 6'5 for carlos.

That would put prasidh taller than every current indian bowler other than ishant and taller than Cummins lockie archer etc. On par with Starc lol. So yeah he has sufficient height to be a bounce bowler.  Lets talk abt his other attributes pls.

That would make prasidh on par with them. Cummins if 6'3 should be a weak one more on 189 side than 191..prasidh might be a strong 6'3 and starc a weak 6'4 so on fairly inconclusive as it is always. But the point is Prasidh has tall bowlers height and potential to grow that frame in years to come.

I like him but he doesn't give right vibes when bowling, not confident about what he is doing. Bowls random stuff.

BTW here is starc, giving to camera angle disadvantage for starc, posture ishant wide, still has at least 3 to 4 inches on him though ishant is not 6'7 he is probably a strong 6'5. Starc is 6'3.

Ishant-Sharma-Mitchell-Starc-INDIA-v-AUS

Pat in background with 6'1 or 2 mitchelle who probably has slight elevation.

Mitchell+Johnson+Pat+Cummins+Australian+

In front of 6 ft ? Shubman

PATjpg

Pat is probably 6'2 or a bit more if we want to be generous.

But yeah rkt will pull heights as he wishes from his arse.. @rkt.india :).

We can't always assess from T20s.

Even Shami gave that vibe in T20s till 2019 ... but was such a top bowler in tests and ODIs.

Plus ... almost all new Indian pacers look lost in the early parts of their careers ... but the good ones grow after 1 year in international cricket.

P.s -- Mavi has looked the most mature young Indian quick bowler in 2020. He has bowled very apt deliveries in this IPL.

Mavi bowled a lot of channel stuff. Most other Indian bowlers do vary a lot in line.  Keeping a consistent line while varying your length is the key.

Absolute trash of an article. One or 2 series cant decide the fate of ATG material like Bumrah. Shane Warne had a horrid time in India, Waqar Younis had terrible time in India. But that doesnt change the fact those guys were legends.

This knee jerk reaction by our own people is something we need to be wary of.

this is what i dont get about ppl here

Batsman will have yrs of draught but he has to keep place for his legendary status but the minute bowler even has a day off he is called run machine or overrated

Indiviudal numbers have always been the priority then team result.

Team result matters for a day but after 2 days the excuse comes but he scored 75 runs (forgetting the 90 balls taken for that part)

Averaging 37 after 44 games isn't a series or two.
