The above name just happened to Indian cricket just like Bumrah happened, that too together at a time We must thank our stars, that they aligned and blessed us with the pace pool which will be etched in our memories as our Golden period of fast bowling BCCI has no role in it,they have all left it to destiny When the stars will again align maybe in next 45-50 years we'll get again 2-3 great pacers playing together for India Let's just sit back and wait for the moment or let our upcoming generation wait No roadmap for strength and conditioning program ,just go by robotics reading of stats and play bowlers accordingly No development programs for budding pacers,no wonder we loose so many cricketers enroute other boards would have encashed Indian domestic pacers need 3-4 yrs of International cricket to come up to speed on avg. Even then they may not quite be good enough but likes of Bumrah are extreme exceptions in taking to it like duck to water. For the rest we have to be patient. ishant took even longer.

MK55 Posted January 5, 2025 Posted January 5, 2025 Btw one good news is that Harsha said that Bumrah told him he’s nowhere close to his fastest this series. He told him that he can crank it up but the wickets are so conducive that he dint need to do that. I don’t completely agree what he says but still good signs. Mosher, Suhaan and express bowling 3

He didn't crank it, and still got injured. probably that's good, because he cranked it, he would have broken down sooner

Literally the first thing Bumrah said was that he missed bowling on the spiciest track in this series. But yeah, he should be persisted for now. Needs a lot improvement on his full balls and average pace. Morne needs to do something.

MK55 Posted January 5, 2025 Posted January 5, 2025 Why can’t we find a guy with the fitness of Starc lol. Was bowling 145k average in most of his spells in the 4th test match even when he had an injury scare just some days back. He’s rarely injured anyways. Hopefully stays that way.

If one year rehab is not helping, at this age it’s just over. The sooner he and everybody accepts that, the better. He can focus on the shorter formats - not at the international level as we would want to groom and give opportunities to the next generation of bowlers now. But yeah he can be a back up over there.

Nikhil_cric Posted January 5, 2025 Posted January 5, 2025 Bumrah has the highest release point among our main bowlers(Prasidh is not a regular) and that's just not good enough. Even Mohammad Abbas has a release point higher than our bowlers. We need taller bowlers. As simple as that.

We need variety,in SENA atleast 2 should be tall and bouncy not floaty Simarjeet a domestic bowler who is not very tall if you compare it with tall pacers of SENA still extracts discomforting bounce He was playing domestics regularly 2-3 seasons ago We need to be vigilant if we are serious about winning things other than IPL,just don't go by stats alone He should have been on the radar,we were not patient enough with Kuldeep Sen,he has that bounce and hard lengths How would you get those if you drop them abruptly?no team barring SA (who literally produce tall bouncy bowlers like rabbits)can afford dropping those kind of bowlers express bowling and Vijy 2
