Have to say the wicket was also pretty flat. They messed up badly in the first batting innings.

SL spinners were most effective when bowling 3-5 m length on Day 2.

 

5/65 off 133 balls today off that length band. 

 

Average speed of around 83 kph as well. 

 

 

Jadeja, Kuldeep and Suthar should get their speeds and lengths from the get go

140 k bumper next, top edged and falls in no man's land.

 

Getting seam movement and bounce at 137 kph to 144 kph. Most balls at 140 kph+.

Siraj bowling 124 k to 129 k mostly. Just gently releasing the ball. 

 

Is he fully fit ?

No way his average speed would be below 130 if he's fit.

Gurnoor would have bowled much more dangerously than both Prasidh and Siraj.

 

Must play next test.

Prasidh changes ends ( to Siraj's end ) and is clocking 5 kph lower speeds. Siraj was clocking ridiculously low speeds too.

 

Problem with speed gun on this end ?

The " 2nd over end " is definitely registering higher speeds.

 

Prasidh back to this end again and clocking 142 / 143 k regularly.

This two pacers strategy in srilanka makes no sense to me especially when you don't use express pacers

Not watching the match but surely the pitch could be a dead, slow wickets. On such wickets, you put the effort and the ball just doesn't bounce or speed up.. And you end up not putting the effort in anymore.

Happening repeatedly and alternately. 

 

Anyone bowling from "1st over end" is clocking about 5 kph lower.  

 

Prasidh has bowled 4 spells ( 2 spells each from both ends )

 

Has clocked much faster speeds in his 3rd spell again from 2nd over end. 

 

Siraj was clocking 5 kph higher when he was bowling from 2nd over end late in the 2nd session.

Picking Siraj and Prasidh together on a dead track does not make any sense to me. 

 

For slow tracks ....

Siraj lacks pace.

Prasidh lacks skills.

 

Indian TMs, over the years, no matter who is in charge, lack balls to pick new fiery pacers unless the older ones look totally toothless.

 

And they end up messing many series.

Suthar - 74 %

Jadeja - 58.2 %
