Prasidh is a stop gap solution.

There is a massive vaccum after Bumrah, then Siraj to some extent and then a nothingness....Prasidh & Akashdeep are fillers.

Prasidh isnt the brightest star in the sky, but he is a reliable 3rd seamer under specific conditions where bounce plays a key role.

Our next gen pacers arent ready yet Mostly because BCCI & ex selectors were busy cheerleading for the batters.

Prasidh is a quota selection

bumrah should be followed by shami  but selectors are jokers

Even Starc, although he is clocking high speeds, is lacking the zip off the deck. Looking tired.

Have to say the wicket was also pretty flat. They messed up badly in the first batting innings.

SL spinners were most effective when bowling 3-5 m length on Day 2.

5/65 off 133 balls today off that length band.

Average speed of around 83 kph as well.

Jadeja, Kuldeep and Suthar should get their speeds and lengths from the get go

Prasidh changes ends ( to Siraj's end ) and is clocking 5 kph lower speeds. Siraj was clocking ridiculously low speeds too.

Problem with speed gun on this end ?

Not watching the match but surely the pitch could be a dead, slow wickets. On such wickets, you put the effort and the ball just doesn't bounce or speed up.. And you end up not putting the effort in anymore.

Happening repeatedly and alternately.

Anyone bowling from "1st over end" is clocking about 5 kph lower.

Prasidh has bowled 4 spells ( 2 spells each from both ends )

Has clocked much faster speeds in his 3rd spell again from 2nd over end.

Siraj was clocking 5 kph higher when he was bowling from 2nd over end late in the 2nd session.

This two pacers strategy in srilanka makes no sense to me especially when you don't use express pacers

Picking Siraj and Prasidh together on a dead track does not make any sense to me.

For slow tracks ....

Siraj lacks pace.

Prasidh lacks skills.

Indian TMs, over the years, no matter who is in charge, lack balls to pick new fiery pacers unless the older ones look totally toothless.

And they end up messing many series.

When Indian spinners have hit 3-5 m length ,

7/110 off 229 balls

Percentage of deliveries with massive turn (4.5 + degrees)

Suthar - 74 %

Jadeja - 58.2 %

Kuldeep - 50%

Kuldeep should retire and open a pan shop ??
