Siraj bowled his heart out on the last Eng tour. Without Bumrah & Shami we need him fit and firing

i have shared this earlier too-

A fast bowler is very good today- a GUN bowler, but can be an average bowler after 6 months...why?

-SPEED- i dont need to write here what i wish to say, if the ball is easy to pick by batsmen's eye , bowler will be Hit.

-SKILLS- capability to inswing, Outswing, Control Line and length and capability to Pitch the ball where he plans too.

-Fitness..there is a fitness level for batsmen and a fitness level for a fast bowler. if a fast bowler has a minor injusry , i mean a small pain in shoulder Or legs or just a feeling that he is not very fit , he becomes a failure and he should not play. fast bowler should be coming like a tiger attacking his food...bust of energy.

-FORM /Rhythm you can call it form or rhythm, when they have the rhythm going for them , they just run in and simply ball everything hits the timber or the ball follows their direction. this is all very important.

- MIND/Focus/No Negativity state- if a fast bowler is positive and aggressive he suceeds, if u hit him for 4 fours, his mindset may become defensive and he can be hit for  2more fours easily thats why if u hit a fast bowler for 3 good shots for 4's or sixes off first 3 balls , there are very high chances that he will be hit for 3 more shots in next 3 balls.

Siraj had issue's in Speed, fitness, rhythm in the previous TEST.

a pacer gets best results when all are good.

Skills is where experienced fast bowler always scores high but speed /fitness/form , a new guy like Mayank or Gurnoor can beat. thats  why a selector should know that even if the Skills are less , other factors new guy can be better.

during kapil dev times, focus was very high only on SKILLS, they thought a fast bowler had to be highly Skilled and then they saw new west indies fast bowler playing their first match taking a fifer , a new fast bowler will have very limited skills compared to a manoj prabhakar or a Kapil dev but will score high in speed , rhythm, fitness.

umraan khan had speed fitness rhythm going when he came and then it seems some one messed with him.

so one has to be very sure about a fast bowler. now they are giving importance to other factors apart from skills too that's why new breed of pacers is coming post Umesh/varun aroon times.

Everyone today know Varun Aroon was as good as Umesh Yadav if not better so he should have played as much as Umesh Yadav if not more BUT MS dhoni had other ideas.

see any video of varun and Umesh and you will realise that varun was out bowling Umesh Yadav. Till today I hate Thalla bcos of this that he spoilt the career or atleast varun and even did not grow umesh well.

He usually bowls mid 130s and early 140s kmph. 148 kmph could have been error.

Seen him clock ~145 kmph but high 140s may be some issue with speedometer

But he gets lot of swing and zip, which troubles a lot of batters in dpl t20

Dpl uses hawkeye for speed measurement not radar doppler guns so error is unlikely

ipl/intnl bradcast also uses haweye and they get few bad readings here and there. The speeds on most part are correct but bad reading can come here/there

This TM could not introduce Gurnoor against either Afghanistan or SL in tests. Both weak teams.

In NZ Bumrah will play along with the current 2 and Gurnoor will carry drinks again.

He is already 26.

Then, 2 or 3 years later, he will lose momentum. And maybe pace too due to lack of actual match practice with the red ball.

Then they will pick him and he will get criticized for being mediocre.

Harshit was picked but dropped for ever after just 2 tests. He is not even in the test squad after BGT 24-25.

No matter who the TM are, they never pick new pacers in tests unless there is an emergency, even if the current ones are mediocre.

Strangely, the much criticized Dhoni had introduced so many new 140 k+ pacers in tests. Umesh, Aaron, Shami.

He was forced to, after the 0-8 debacle and Zak, RPS, Sreesanth, Munaf, Pathan, Praveen Kumar all lost their fitness/motivation at once.

We even played Ashok Dinda & Vinay Kumar in that era, while Dinda helped us won a game against Pak....neither were consistent enough.

Thats the problem our planning has, we dont prepare for the future...and just expect that magically someone will appear and take up the mantle. When the situation gets dire, they will pick up a stat padder from Domestics, throw him in a series or two and then rotate if he fails to succeed. Anyway, bowlers specially fast bowlers gets least priority in Indian cricket. Every ex cricketer salivating for next king, next prince, next commander in chief yada yada.

Mukesh Chaudhary bowling at decent pace.hope he  gets some wickets

How quick was he ?

He can bowl upto 145-146k...but usually operated in 137-143k in IPL.

His action hints that he can maintain the pace in longer formats as well.
