Utter trash from Prasidh today.

Agree.

One can excuse a poor first spell of a debutant due to nerves.

But after a good 2nd spell yesterday, Prasidh should have been rearing to go this morning.

Disappointing attitude.

He has first class experience and is 27 yet bowls like an untested green 20 yr old debutant.

Really poor bowling effort by India on this tricky pitch with uneven bounce.

It seems like our golden period of fast bowling in test cricket ... from Jan 2018 to early 2022 ... is over. I will be happy if I am proved wrong.

During the above mentioned period, both Bumrah and Shami used to hit the deck much harder and got bounce and seam movement. The tall Ishant did it till 2020 too.

Now, Bumrah does not want to hit the deck as hard after his 2nd back injury even though he is bowling 135 to 145 k or higher. And Shami is old and does not want to hit the deck either. The tall Ishant is gone and we don't have any replacement yet.  Siraj has been a below par test bowler who has not been able to take even 3 wickets per test after 22 tests.

We basically have a typical Indian pace attack nowadays which depends on swing and looks below par the moment there is no swing. Only difference is that these are fast swing bowlers compared to the medium fast ones of pre-2015 period.

We need new ideas especially with the coaching staff. One of Pollock or Philander in the dressing room would have made a big difference me thinks but the preparation for this sort of tour happens in the weeks before the tour, especially after a WC.

Pollock.and Philander want to see bouncer barrages being used .. surprised we have not done it all morning.

Pollock talking about the need to have tall quick bowlers bowling short balls.

Philander would be a very good bowling coach for India.

Very observamt, insightful and objective.

Saying that pacers shouldn't look for too much swing ( would miss the edges ) .. but look for small seam movements. Use the pitch.

Saand Mhambrey is bulky and looks more beautiful sitting idly

Harshit Rana not even in the squad for the 2nd Unofficial Test vs SA A being played today.

He was in the squad earlier.

Has he picked up a niggle  ??

Harshit Rana has injured his hamstring. He has been ruled out of the four-day match against South Africa A.
