He is still young and raw. A batting allrounder who can clock 135-140 is good enough for the age of 21. Also, he just recovering from an injury so maybe going easy. His batting seems like stronger suit than his bowling though. tweaker and Lone Wolf 2

Even Mayank said in interview that he was bowling well within himself. Reddy did bowl in mid 135-138k range which is good enough if pitch has some bounce and zip. 9 minutes ago, singhvivek141 said: He is still young and raw. His speeds are ok. But even on the lively Duleep pitches, his ability to extract life out of pitches looked a bit iffy to me. He is a decent conventional swing bowler though. Lone Wolf and Mosher 2

He is a batsman who can bowl. Has even opened the batting in age group cricket.

tapandrun Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 Didnt watch complete match but there seems to be some changes in his action and approach to the crease. Not sure if crossed 150 kmph but was sharp and may be not trying to push the speeds. But as a fast bowler you want to get into your top speeds as soon as possible after recovery as becomes hard to attain top speeds due to muscle memory. Hopefully he gets into his top speeds asap.

LAF has some kind of advantage in T20s, LAF has become a proper wkt taking options in t20s. Every team has one these days in t20s express bowling 1

He still bowled as fast as Brett Lee did on his debut at the age of 23. Rightarmfast 1

Both Akthar and lee took sometime to crack that 155 kmph barrier , which mayank has already crossed. But at that time there was no t20s. Not sayigng if there was t20 when they 1st made intnl debut they would have been clocking 160 kmph regularly Its just that he should not take much time to reach his peak speeds again else it get hard to reach original speeds. This is what shaheen said we a pushing but the speedometer is not showing those speeds, once the bowler looses that kind of natural speeds its hard to gain it again they can push as much as possible it just does not work. Its common with SENA bowlers to increase their pace after some seasons of Intnl cricket as the body is still growing and they are getting strength. And they always tried to bowl as fast as they can. Before bhumrah and shami Ind bowlers would push and bowl fast in their 1st intnl season and then they either got injured because they never had repetition at those speeds or they go back bowling sub 135 kmph to extend their careers Edited October 7, 2024 by tapandrun
