Held down one end in a test match overseas. Allows Dhoni to rotate the seamers. More than what bhaji, Mishra and ashwin have been able to offer abroad... If he can consistently play like this- then definitely worth his place in the side. Lively in the field- always useful in long, gruelling sessions. Just needs to improve his batting

Let him find his feet abroad. Now that seamers have seemed to up their game- he'll naturally become more effective as a wicket taking option. Also he has played on pattas for spin bowling abroad- as foreign teams look to make India as uncomfortable as possible. There's still time in this test. Let's see how he goes on day 5.

Happy to wait but I don't see him producing a match-winning spell away from home any time soon. The seamers started well in this innings but we couldn't finish it off. Jadeja struggled to get a tailender in Jimmy Anderson out today. I don't see why we cant try out another young spinner from Indian domestic cricket.

Simple tried and tested formula for selecting your best test side. * Pick your 6 best batsmen (one of whom can bowl a little bit) * Pick your best wicket keeper batsmen * Pick your 4 best bowlers Ideally it would be great to have a Kallis/Flintoff in the team, but remember that Kallis was one of South Africa's best batsmen first and Flintoff was one of England's best bowlers. Jadeja is neither.
