Shami's performance

Its a chicken and egg thing. Shami has clearly been selected by Dhoni to bowl at the death. This means he is bound to have a higher economy rate than other bowlers. This also means he is bound to pick up more wickets as the batsman look to slog. Ie getting people caught out on the boundary. Maybe we need to look at what his economy and wicket taking ability is in the first 10 overs. One of the reasons i do believe Ajit Agarkar had a low strike rate was because he bowled at the death a lot and picked up wickets that way.

Yes, whenever Sir Aggy bowled it was the 'death' overs. :winky:

Not really ...what you say makes sense in theory but you just have to look at his performance from start in odis he has picked big wickets whenever he bowled Watson comes to mind in Australia series or every match against New Zealand where he did pick 1 or 2 wickets at start but rest of attack did nothing or even this current series where I do not even need to give example . If anything his high economy tells me we as bowling attack are letting oter teams go into last 10 overs with too many wickets in hand and rest of attack is not picking enough wickets
