Shami's performance

Why is Shami underperforming in Eng? In SA, he did not do great either.

he was the only seamer in joburg 2nd innings who showed up. he did good there. imo he bowls too short when he can do damage bowling full and swinging it.

Shammi is doing well. On patta"s wickets not many in world can bowl well. He is doing ok.

In ODI Shami has never had a problem, he is a genuine wicket taker there. It's only in tests where he has become very inconsistent off late mainly in England series. He doesn't have a good bouncer to push the batsman back, so his outswingers are not as effective. Also was a lot wayward with lines in the England series. He has all the ingredients to be a good bowler in all formats. Just needs a good coach to guide him, which has not got thus far.

Economy will always be his problem since he has to bowl 5-6 overs in the death continuously.In Kochi odi he bowled well in opening spell, got a wicket too and was looking good, then he was taken off just after 4 overs. why??Because Our Dhobi feels that Bhuvi kumar can't bowl at the death (but in IPL he was bowling yorkers after yorkers and was the most economical indian fast bowler this year), but then Dhobi has his own logic. so Bhuvi have to bowl all his overs upfront, but poor Shami even though capable of getting wicket with new ball have to bowl his last 6 overs at the death :facepalm:... Same happened in England too. So lets not belittle him if he get some cheap wickets, because obviously if someone have to bowl so much overs at the death, he will get smashed but ultimately will also get some free wickets too

yes. You are bound get hit in batting PP and slog. Important is he takes wickets. IF wickets do not come, more runs will come.

Dhoni can't manage pacers. Bhuvi bowls 10 overs straight, shami bowls around 6-7 and if he gets wickets, then more... just see how Australia, SA and even England manages them. Clarke gives Johnson only 3 over spells, steyn barely bowls 5 and same with anderson and as a result they don't get too tired .. This is a basic thing but dont know why dhoni doesnt get it.
