Old guy Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 As a WK batsmen we dont really have a replacement for him .His batting overseas is questionable , but so has been the case of some of our Top order bats in the past . Why are the standards so high for Dhoni ? The likes of Saha , Ojha are not Intl Standard , these guys will neither be good at home or overseas . top order bats like who ? and saha not being international standard is just your opinion and he deserves a chance ...forget batting here msd is poor keeper in these conditions who does not even goes for many chances . saha got once chance in australia but he looked much better player than msd did now you can disagree with that you can give opinions about how they will do in future but you cannot argue they have not done enough to warrant a chance and msd has not been as poor as some of seniors you talked about in OP if not worse and deserves to be dropped on performance alone
great siri Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 the sad thing for india is that if they win this series they will go under a fake illusion that everything has become so right for them and they r a strong team be4 being shown the harsh reality in australia later this year .it happened with srilanka likely to happen with india too.

Saha is pretty good.Pretty sure he wont be worse than Dhoni overseas atleast.and a much better keeper for pacers

Potentially only DK was a better WK-Bat than MSD , unfortunately he just dint take his opportunites . The likes of saha and Ojha are just pretenders .
velu Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 lord .. benched and non-playing players are always better than current players :phehehe:
jusarrived Posted July 21, 2014 Author Posted July 21, 2014 Saha is pretty good.Pretty sure he wont be worse than Dhoni overseas atleast.and a much better keeper for pacers Very very overrated on this forum . His keeping I agree is good , but hes an exteremely limited batsmen .
Lord Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Very very overrated on this forum . His keeping I agree is good ' date=' but hes an exteremely limited batsmen .[/quote'] his technically better than Dhoni, has a decent FC record.can play spin too. What do you not like about him?
Lord Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 lord .. benched and non-playing players are always better than current players :phehehe: I'm sure Saha is sensible enough to not do this one over before stumps:winky:
velu Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 I'm sure Saha is sensible enough to not do this one over before stumps:winky: but saha would get out by playing text book cricket :giggle:
Lord Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 but saha would get out by playing text book cricket :giggle: better than getting out by slogging :--D
velu Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 better than getting out by slogging :--D if saha is gettimg a chance then dhoni would surely be selected as a batsmen .. what do you prefer ?? saha + dhoni or dhoni + batsmen like to remind you .. we are the boss :bandit:
gattaca Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 I'm sure Saha is sensible enough to not do this one over before stumps:winky: Amla has done the same thing vs Aussies he was praised by aussie pandits saying he was throwing them of their lines. nitpicking I would say.

Potentially only DK was a better WK-Bat than MSD , unfortunately he just dint take his opportunites . The likes of saha and Ojha are just pretenders . again with just opinions ? and sehwag was dropped plenty of times ..do you think he consistently got chances away from home ? in england he played half the series he only got whole chance in australia and he was criticized heavily and barely saved his place before that he use to score one good inning per every away tour atleast but truth is most of his runs came in sub continent also are you really going to compare batting of sehwag and dhoni ? sehwag got phrased out accoring to you so why even use him as example ? infact drop MSD because sehwag is dropped...i do not get how you are trying to defend place of msd by saying sehwag too was bad player when sehwag has been dropped and forgotten
Lord Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Amla has done the same thing vs Aussies he was praised by aussie pandits saying he was throwing them of their lines. really?Amla jumped out of the crease against a fast bowler exposing his stumps?:cantstop:
gattaca Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 really?Amla jumped out of the crease against a fast bowler exposing his stumps?:cantstop: you need to SA tour of Australia last year.
Old guy Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 I'm sure Saha is sensible enough to not do this one over before stumps:winky: i find it ironic that op creates a thread about seniors not performing and being replaced by no namers and is using opposite argument when it comes to his favorite leep in mind selectors did want to drop msd but srini vetoed it
Lord Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 you need to SA tour of Australia last year. I did watch it.Can't remember Amla doing anything close to that though
gattaca Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 I did watch it.Can't remember Amla doing anything close to that though Aussies were bowling to a 7 - 2 field and he went outside off to hit to leg side.
