Detonator Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 New Delhi: There are intelligence inputs which suggest threat of terrorist attacks on Amarnath pilgrims, Lok Sabha was informed on Tuesday. Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said there are intelligence inputs about the plan of terrorists to target Amarnath yatra and the same has been shared with security agencies at the Centre and state levels. Rijiju said since the beginning of the yatra this year, the reports of some incidents of stone pelting on yatra vehicles from Jammu and Kashmir's Ganderbal district have been received. In these incidents, injury to one pilgrim and damage to the windowpanes of three vehicles have been reported, he said adding the state government has been taking adequate measures to provide security to the Amarnath pilgrims. The minister further said that the Jammu and Kashmir government has been alerted and asked to take appropriate preventive measures. The Jammu and Kashmir government had earlier declared the entire Amarnath yatra route in the state as "highly prone" to terror strikes and directed security agencies to take necessary steps to ensure safety of pilgrims. "Considering the security scenario, topography of the yatra area, high potential of terrorist attacks on the yatris to create law and order situation throughout the state and the country, sensitive nature of the yatra, and the high publicity the yatra generates, the entire yatra area is highly prone to terrorist attacks," the State Home Department said in a circular issued to all agencies concerned. The circular, issued last week, directed the Army, police and other security forces to take action as per their standard operating procedures in the matter to ensure safe pilgrimage which starts on June 28. The security agencies have been directed to carry out aerial surveillance of the yatra area and deploy spotters in adequate numbers at the camps."Besides adequate deployment of security forces at the yatra camps, aerial surveillance of the yatra area may be undertaken and spotters may be deployed in adequate numbers at the yatra camps, particularly at the Holy Cave Shrine area to spot unwanted activities (and) suspicious characters," it added. http://zeenews.india.com/news/nation/centre-warns-of-terror-attack-on-amarnath-pilgrims-alerts-jandk-govt_949358.html OTOH, there are some attacks by local muslims earlier this week which isn't reported by mainstream media. 40+ Injured & 100+ Hindu Pilgrim Tents Destroyed at Amarnath Yatra in Kashmir Amarnath Yatra Attacks 2014 – Gallery 1 The torching of 100+ tents setup and used by Hindu pilgrims has caused clashes with security forces between various communities. The Amarnath cave temple is one of the most sacred and holy pilgrimages for Hindus in the world. Amarnath is located in Pahalgam, which is in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. Over 300,000 too 600,000 Hindu pilgrims visit the isolated temple annually and consists of a long 5-day hike in the northern mountains of the Himalayan region. However, over the last few years the total number of Hindu pilgrims to Amarnath has significantly dropped due to increased fears of violent attacks from Islamist extremist groups. In 2000, Hindu pilgrims were attacked by the Lashkar-e-Taiba (a Pakistan-based Islamist terrorist group) on their journey to Amarnath temple where 30+ Yatris (people participating in the spiritual journey) were killed. Although majority of English Media giants in India avoided covering the attacks, local reports from Baltal in J&K said 6 people have been arrested for causing the violence. Reports also suggest that the main reason for the attack on Hindu pilgrims began when a Hindu cook and a local Pony owner Muslim got in a dispute and then the local Pony owner came back with many others from the local community. Due to the anti-Hindu tension, security forces did not allow passage of Hindu pilgrims to Baltal and lodged the pilgrims at the Manigam transit camp in Ganderbal on the remainder of Friday. However, the pilgrimage route was re-opened Saturday July 19th. More pictures tweeted and sent from the Amarnath Temple pilgrimage camp. someone Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 How and why does our media not give any coverage to such attacks? These are photographs, videos of people getting attacked by bombs and guns. Surely, that has got to be the breaking news. And complete silence from the so called secular brigade.

Gollum Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Curse to be born a Hindu in the Indian subcontinent !!!
someone Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 They are too busy worrying about a shithole called Gaza and it's so called muslim 'victims'' date=' who by the way are the majority in that region.[/quote'] Nope, they are simply afraid in calling out the facts. There are Muslims terrorists in India and are certainly supported by some members of our country. Not to forget, anytime Muslims are accused, we see seculars whining and terming it a communal conspiracy.
Laaloo Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Curse to be born a Hindu in the Indian subcontinent !!! Certainly looks that way. We raise our voices when our 'God' is depicted in some ways, we are told to develop thick skin. When a certain 'minority's' is done the same, its immediately stopped and cries of secularism starts occurring.
panther Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 I am sure your fellow Indian brothers would love to hear your opinions on them or Is Indian nationalism restricted to santhana dharma people only?

CSK Fan Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Curse to be born a Hindu in the Indian subcontinent !!! Nope, they are simply afraid in calling out the facts. There are Muslims terrorists in India and are certainly supported by some members of our country. Not to forget, anytime Muslims are accused, we see seculars whining and terming it a communal conspiracy. What curse is there to be born a hindu? Hindus are amongst the richest, most powerful, in this country. They are in every position of power imaginable. If you have an iota of common sense, you will know this is exactly what these terror attacks are aiming for. What do you think the goal of these attacks are? By killing 10 or 100 people they will bring down India and Hindus? No, the goal is exactly to spread this kind of hatred and divide our country. That is the goal and that has always been the goal. So if you guys believe that by doing exactly what the terrorists want and spreading hatred and communalism, you would be doing the right thing, what else can I say? All I will say is more than the actual victims, the attacks are targeted at people who hold such views, which they then use to sow distrust and enemity Certainly looks that way. We raise our voices when our 'God' is depicted in some ways' date=' we are told to develop thick skin. When a certain 'minority's' is done the same, its immediately stopped and cries of secularism starts occurring.[/quote'] As I have said a 100 times before, majority always takes care of itself by sheer number. Hindus are thriving in India and are present at all high level and amongst the richest in the country. When someone is in the majority, they can afford to be magnanimous instead of behaving threatened. On the other hand we know the history of our partition. We know certain communities are languishing and are targeted for recruiting terrorists. So of course we need to do more to win their trust and keep them in line. A country is always as strong as it's weakest link and the steps will always be taken to make the weakest link stronger, not focus on the strongest link. There is nothing surprising in that
