GolGappe Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Ideal scenario for India would be to bat out a session tomorrow. Put 70-80 more runs on the board and buy some time. This ball is almost 20 overs old. Surviving 30 more overs would be tough but not impossible. Not sure if Pankaj is a complete rabbit with the bat but every ball counts. Regardless of what happens, Cook will not enforce a follow-on and he would want to give his side a buffer of minimum 375 runs for fourth innings. Those two soft dismissals against Mooen really derailed India's reply. Same score with 6 down instead of 8 would have put India in a stronger position to save the game.
ThePhenomenal1 Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Well dhoni could be out 1st ball we will have to see but shami has to play his part and value his wicket. Does he want to bowl again? No, so get back and block and let dhoni do the rest. Shami has said himself that he'll whack it if its in his zone but its risky. Relying on dhoni for 40+ runs more. Go for a 100 might aswell If we have to bowl again, its all down to that offstump channel. That will restrict runs and get wickets. Just bowl 5-6 of them and bring one in, rotate pacers every 4-5 overs and thats it. Make sure we dont bat again on day 4, bat on day 5. Bhuvi can be nightwatchman if we need it.
GolGappe Posted July 29, 2014 Author Posted July 29, 2014 That was the plan. Here are the predictions. 1. India will add another 25 runs to the total. 2. England will not enforce the follow-on and score 250 more and declare 10 overs after tea. 3. India will be 3 down by the end of play today.
ThePhenomenal1 Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 whatever the lead when england bat, we need to give low scoring sessions when we bowl. just bowl that channel.
fineleg Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 whatever the lead when england bat' date=' [b']we need to give low scoring sessions when we bowl. just bowl that channel. I can bet you Jos Buttler will be promoted up the order when declaration is around, he will play his ODI high-strikerate game tomorrow. For sure. Unless top 3 - Dhawan (), M.Vijay and Chepu play 2 or 2.5 full sessions atleast in 2nd Inn, it's Gone, Poindhe, Poye Pochu!

ThePhenomenal1 Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 if only we had batted sensibly. dhawan, rohit and rahane stupid shots. vijay needed to be the ice man today
Austin 3:!6 Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 I don't think this team plans anything but below is my prediction: India will add maximum of 20 runs. England will bat again with a brisk rate. Our bowlers will make the pitch look flat again England will declare 1 hour before close of play with a target of around 450. India will lose 2 wickets by close of play.
undisputed chap Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 India will score 10 runs max. England will score 170 odd in one & a half session. India 6 down by end of the day. Match over by lunch tomorrow.
asterix Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 India will score 10 runs max. England will score 170 odd in one & a half session. India 6 down by end of the day. Match over by lunch tomorrow. This.... :((
skindia Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 My guess:england would get 230 lead, enforce followon, india 247/7 at the end of day, pujara to make fifty

BlueBee Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Simple plan, Fake an injury and lie down on the pitch flat as much as you can, perhaps every over. :giggle:
mishra Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 India allout in next 5 overs. If Cook doest have brain fart and Our batters do a BAU, we loose this match tomorrow before tea
