Bhuvi is little over-confident now??

This is completely wrong time to start his thread having said that he has been most consistent players with both ball and bat... I have been following this guy and what i like most about him is his work ethics . He just gives his best with both ball and bat all teh time esp when in form ..... But if you watch this match carefully, he has been little off the radar with ball. We haven't seen the same nagging line and length which we have seen in the first 2 test matches. Inspite of that , he is our best bowler in this test match But, when in form he would never to that .... may be couple of spells at most but not the entire match ...... And also with bat he was not the same ....his strength was to leave the ball and hit occasional loose ball .... but yesterday, he went into aggressive mode and started attaching likes of stuart board who is england's best bowler...but the need of the hour was to stay and get us over the line. It's unfair to expect that from No:9 batsmen but he had the potential.. He was good overall but having known him, he could have been much better. I always thought he had good head over his shoulders and hopefully, this is one of the off match for him

It is the batsman who could not even score even 200 there. Didn't pick wickets at Sydney and Adelaide. Everyone will be criticized like I did for Shami as he did not do well. I criticized for not working hard enough on his bowling and being complacent. Criticized Aaron when he did not do much in warmups. I have no problem with his bowling or his wickets in this match but people should stop harping about them as there would have been a little difference even if they had not.

That is not how it works. If you want to win a series or tests, you need everyone to contribute. Who does not must be dropped, whoever that is whether Dhawan, Shami, or Jadeja or anyone. There should be no place for passengers. You cannot say it is good even if he does not do anything in rest of the series. He has done well till now and I hope he keeps doing it and pick 25-30 wickets in this series for us to have any chance of winning this series.

I am not critical of him at all. Where did I criticize him? I criticized Shami only till now who has been one my favorites.

That is all people are saying, there is nothing about being a passenger and it is a cheap term to use particularly when a batsman will not be dropped after making 2 back to back 100s. Secondly, about Bhuvi's "cheap" wickets, part of the reason for the wickets is because he is difficult to get away. When the likes of Pankaj were being hit, they tried the same against Bhuvi and lost their wickets. He should have got at least one more. You can call them cheap or whatever, they were earned too

The remark was just for people who are harping on him being the highest wicket taker in the first innings because in the end, they did not matter much. Same people were giving PK's 15 wickets last tour a lot of importance but similarly most of those wickets came when match was already out of our reach England scoring 400-550 runs. BK should play all the matches and aim for 25 wickets at the end of series. He is our main wicket taker so I would like Dhoni to not use him as a workhorse rather a strike bowler and not tire him out bowling 10 overs spell.

+1. Please Spare Bhuvi. Anything that goes wrong has to do with Bhuvi. He has been the best performer for india in this series till now and people still criticize him.

Your problem is the speeds at which BK or PK bowl and nothing else. I will not be surprised if a few months from now, you will dub these wickets by BK on this tour also as wickets that did not matter, same way you are discarding PK's lion hearted effort on the last Eng tour BTW a quick break up of PK's 15 wickets - 1. 6 at Lord's - 4 in the 1st innings BEFORE Eng had scored 390, 1 in the 2nd innings of Cook for 1 2. 7 at Nottingham - 3 in 1st innings Eng scored 221, 2 in the 2nd innings before Eng had got a lead of 300 3. 2 at Birmingham - both taken before England had scored 400+ So 12 of the 15 wickets came when the match was still not out of reach for India. But as I said I expect a similar statement for Bhuvi's efforts on this tour a few months from now.

This is just your assumption, nothing else. Yes, I might be wrong in PK's case but this is what happens when opposite team is scoring 500-600 runs. BK created impact in first two tests by picking 6/82 and 5-fer for not too many in 2nd test which was missing in PK's case. I said this even then that PK was average among crap bowlers while BK has been brilliant. PK picked 1 wicket in first 90 overs at Lords in first innings and that too in 62nd over, one in 2nd inning in first 90 overs, great performance TBH. Second test Nottingham, all 3 pacers did well in Ist innings. Good bowling by all. He picked 1 wicket with new ball here, 2 later on in 36th and 68th over. Picked 4 wickets in 2nd innings but none with new ball, first was in 81st over. So only 2 wickets till now in 4 innings with new ball and he was a new ball bowler. Now Edgbaston, picked 2 in first innings, none with new ball, first was in 71st over. Didn't get the chance to bowl in 2nd innings. So look, I was not wrong actually. Two wickets with new ball in 5 innings of 3 tests, 3 wickets before 40 overs in the innings, 4 wickets before 60 overs in the innings, 6 wickets before 70 overs in the innings. Rest 9 were after that.
