suhas12 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Right guys, reading through a lot of threads tonight and I am seeing an awful lot of negativity and sort of an inevitable feeling that we are going to lose. Stranger things have happened than us drawing this test match. We only need to look the Eng v SL series where England where 5 down before the 5th day and they got to the last ball of the day until Anderson messed up. This game is far far far from over. We have Rahane and Rohit at the crease; Rahane is a class act and was visibly distraught with his dismissal in the 1st innings so he will without a doubt want to make up for that, and you can see how determined he is. Rohit also was cursing his 1st innings shot and is looking to put up a performance in what is a huge test for him. Then we have Dhoni, who made 50 first innings and showed great application, we have Jadeja who can bat and bat well, and we have Bhuvenshwar as well who will without doubt hang around and he is class. Shami as well made 50 in first test so come on guys lets get behind our team. If we can take this game to tea with maybe 2 or 3 wickets left, Cook and England are going to be sweating, they haven't won a test in 10 games! Trust me they aren't just going to easily win this, no way. This is such a big test in the series. If we can get the draw here, then we can go Old Trafford and Oval where hopefully Ashwin will play and cause lots of problems for the England batsman and also that **** Anderson may be banned, so then England are struggling big time to take 20 wickets, also considering that Broad is struggling with his knee. Just a final thought, a certain Pankaj Singh has been very unlucky this test, and I think we all feel a little sympathetic towards him. However, could he, just could he possibly be the hero on this last day. Wait and see but trust me this game is far from over and we have a chance to save. Lets just get behind them. Chak de India.
vvvslaxman Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 85.4 Broad to Yuvraj Singh, OUT, edged, gone! Yuvraj's innings comes to an end. Bounce and seam movement did for him. Broad hit a length outside off and found some extra bounce with the hard new ball, Yuvraj poking defensively with no great certainty and managing only to get a feather through to Prior. Yuvraj Singh c †Prior b Broad 62 (141m 115b 10x4 0x6) SR: 53.91 India 267/5 R Dravid 116* (231b 15x4) SCJ Broad 21.4-6-46-2 87.3 Broad to Dhoni, OUT, there's another one! Dhoni stands at the wicket, his feet in cement, and flashes at an outswinger, Anderson easily pouching the edge at second slip. England are surging now. India's lead is 52, but we're rapidly getting into the tail here. MS Dhoni c Anderson b Broad 5 (8m 9b 1x4 0x6) SR: 55.55 India 273/6 R Dravid 117* (233b 15x4) SCJ Broad 22.3-6-46-3 87.4 Broad to Harbhajan Singh, OUT, gone first ball! Broad pings the pad, up goes Marais Erasmus' finger, he's on a hat-trick! Harbhajan really isn't happy with that, he wants to review it but it's an lbw, so he can't. Big inside edge, he's very unfortunate to be on his way. Harbhajan Singh lbw b Broad 0 (1m 1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00 India 273/7 R Dravid 117* (233b 15x4) SCJ Broad 22.4-6-46-4 87.5 Broad to Kumar, OUT, clatter! Hat-trick for Stuart Broad! Praveen had no answer to this delivery, it jagged viciously in off the pitch and the batsman pushed at it more in hope than anything else. The crowd are singing now, Broad raises the ball to all corners of the ground in appreciation. What a lift for England. What a turn-around for Broad from the beginning of this summer. P Kumar b Broad 0 (1m 1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00 India 273/8 R Dravid 117* (233b 15x4) SCJ Broad 22.5-6-46-5 88.2 Bresnan to Dravid, OUT, there goes another one! India are falling in a heap here. Dravid was looking to push on and backed to leg, flashing an uppercut to Alastair Cook at third man. Bresnan strikes immediately upon coming back into the attack, and England are hunting just one more wicket, with two tailenders at the crease. The end of a great Test knock from Dravid, it must be said R Dravid c Cook b Bresnan 117 (371m 235b 15x4 0x6) SR: 49.78 India 273/9 I Sharma 0* (1b) TT Bresnan 19.2-6-37-2 91.1 Broad to Sharma, OUT, great catch from Bell to end the innings! And yet another wicket for Broad. Sharma aimed a wild hook at a throat-high bouncer, the ball coming off possibly glove and body and looping towards Bell, who put his hand up to pluck it out of the air I Sharma c Bell b Broad 3 (12m 12b 0x4 0x6) SR: 25.00 India 288/10 S Sreesanth 7* (6b 1x4) SCJ Broad 24.1-8-46-6 REPEAT
suhas12 Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 Not really the same at all mate. We won the 2nd test at Lords. Don't remember us winning a test at all in the 2011 series. Things have changed. Be positive.

wanted_desi Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Why did Vijay need to get out in such manner, he is our best batter along with Rahane. And Cmon Pujara atleast play 100 balls before getting out. And Dhawan i never expected anything from him. Kohli is just out of form, but stage was set for him to score a big 100 and save a match. I don't expect anything from Nohit..

I don't expect anything from Nohit.. To be honest I was furious with Vijay's dismissal, ridiculous to get run out while saving the game. He was our best hope along with Pujara I admit. However, Rahane is a world class player and so is Rohit, they will perform. For Kohli, disappointing but he will come back, awesome player.

Did you see how Dhawan was running like he was playing T20. Some of the calls were really tight. This reminds me of the test against Pakistan in Bangalore. VIru was playing fluently. Gauti ran him out. Then we collapsed next day.

I mean I guess they were trying to be positive, rotate strike keep things moving. But it was just silly. Plan stupidity. It happens though and we need to get over it and just support Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane, two superb players. And also smack that Moeen Ali godsake.
zep1706 Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 4 wickets in the first session. All out in one and half session.
nevada Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Saving the match will be impossible but I hope atleast one among Rohit and Rahane scores a century to inspire his team mates to do better in the remaining matches.

Not Rohit please. He needs to be dropped for the simple reason that you need to play 5 bowlers.

This is nothing bizzarre batting in both innings. Very true wicket. No uneven bounce, ball nicely coming on to bat. It is like a good one day wicket. Ridiculous,Nervous shots by our promising young batsmen. To add to that a needless run out. Combination or suicidal and nervous batting in both the innings have put us in this position. One reason may be India was chasing a mammoth total. So Cook kept the fielders in.Our batsmen tried to dominate Ali and paid the price. In the second innings no such excuse.
JourneyMan Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 OP I'm with you. The draw is definitely still on, and it will feel like a win.
