a bit unfair and not totally unfair. does it mean Dravid also thinks to some extent Sachin did not show up when his team needed him? Dravid again pointed out what is wrong with Indian batsmen.They expect bowlers who were always on their first or second trips to take wickets when they scored 100s where as it should have been other way around. Greatness of batsmen also lies to score runs when his team needs it. Great example is last test yes bowlers stunk but all the batsmen in first innings had a chance to score big and make a 500 plus total and make the test a boring draw but most of them got starts but none of scored enough. Ten years from now it will looks as if bowlers got pounded so poor batsmen did not stand a chance to save the test which is so far from truth.

He said every batsman is selfish to some extent so why criticize only SRT.

Yeah I have seen this before....The fact is SRT has been endorsed by Lara himself.....I see a trend where most Pakis and Velu have R.D as their favorite adopted son :haha:

If Rahul really felt that LAra was better than Sachin, then he should man up and say it out loud. There is nothing wrong with it. It is his wish and even LAra is indeed greater than Sachin, taking certain criteria into consideration as is Sachin greater than Lara in certain ways. But to hear it from whiny felt wrong in some ways. Thats my view.

Credit to him though, he has handled it really well in public.

I wouldn't believe that of Dravid. He might have genuinely felt Lara was better and he was also right to be cautious about not saying this openly, not because Sachin would mind, but because we have stupid fans in this country. And we also don't know what context it was said in, maybe it was over a drinking session where someone just put a random question, "Sachin or Lara"

True-Dada is remembered as the India's greatest captain,SRT-India's greatest player,VVS-For his clutch back to the wall match winning innings,Kumble-India's greatest bowler,Sehwag-Most destructive openor of all time. R.D musty feel lost in the shuffle here..Yes he is the Wall but that nick name was given to him based on his defensive game(Which is a good thing,Was the glue that held it together) but obviously it is a thankless job. He has handled it well,anyone else would have been really bitter.
