King Tendulkar Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Everyone picking yadav but sala dhoni does not even have him in squad
FreakazoiD Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Apparently green wicket ideal for England in seam friendly. No doubt we will pick 2 spinners. When will we ever learn:hysterical: I actually believe England will produce a flat track so they don't lose. However, overhead conditions could always be conducive to swing bowling. Either way, Dhoni will never play 4 seamers again in his life after the treatment his 4th seamer Vinay Kumar received at Perth :haha:
adi B Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Oval has the highest bowling average for spinners in last few years in England and that is 41. Giles saying it wont help spinners much. Even Ajmal picked just 1 wicket against Surrey in 50 plus overs there. So that settles it then,India have to play 4 seamers and ashwin. Pishant, bhuvi,Yadav,Aaron
sensible-indian Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 2. Picking the best set of batsmen available Do we have any? The keyword is "available". Best of the lot in the squad. Binny is what we have. Or we have to with Rohit or Naman Ojha (untested).
termination Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 bhuvi should be rested since we also need him for the odi series
King Tendulkar Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 bhuvi should be rested since we also need him for the odi series True. Plus we don't want to burn out him for future IPLs
Laaloo Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Looks like we will go with Ashwin and Jadeja again and Ishant will come in for Pankaj
CSK Fan Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 bhuvi should be rested since we also need him for the odi series Lol, I hope he is nowhere near these useless ODIs.
vijay50 Posted August 14, 2014 Author Posted August 14, 2014 I dont think Ishant is fully fit. If he is only half fit and playing due to team pressure, dont expect any wickets from him. I would go with Ojha, Binny and Pandey and drop Kohli, Jadeja and Pankaj.
vvvslaxman Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Reading the reports Binny might play at the expense of Ashwin.
adi B Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Reading the reports Binny might play at the expense of Ashwin. jadeja
sensible-indian Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Reading the reports Binny might play at the expense of Ashwin. Wasn't it Jaddu? Where? Can you post a link?
vvvslaxman Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Wasn't it Jaddu? Where? Can you post a link? I am not sure Dhoni will leave Jaddu out.
Insidious Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 IMO Bhuvi should be rested. He is really tired and you can see even if he is taking wickets, he does not have the same impact, which he had in Trent bridge and lords. Back to back 5 test matches can take a lot out of you and then he have to play odis too. From IPL it is evident that he is our best death bowler and he is our best with new ball too. Lets not forget we could not able to win a single match in SA as well as in NZ, so we have to prove a lot in this odi series. so we can't say it is crap because it is the only format we are good at.

Even with their workload, even i can recuperate fully well in max 4 days. And I am not an athlete, just a recreational player. getting tired is a BS excuse!
Lord Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Wasn't it Jaddu? Where? Can you post a link? I think Dhoni has categorically said Jaddu will play Anyway Binny might be lucky charm again

I think Ishant, Aaron, Shami, Binny and Ashwin should play. Binny is a better batsman at test level than Jadeja anyway and he could prize out a wicket or two. Important thing is how Dhoni uses Binny because he seems to be quite reluctant to ask him to bowl.
sensible-indian Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 I think Dhoni has categorically said Jaddu will play Anyway Binny might be lucky charm again Yes I know. I was saying that the reports suggested there might be possibility of Binny coming in place of Jaddu instead of Ashwin. We all know Jaddu isn't going to be dropped. I want Binny as a batsman. If he has to be taken as a bowler, Ashwin or Jaddu have to be dropped.

Bowlers will take lot of time especially when you are young and you are forced to bowl long spells. Not easy.

Bowlers in test match should never ever play the next match. Human body at that age needs lot of time to recover. I have been harping about one off/ one on game but it does not register. That day will come when they will rest them appropriately. I have no idea what your standard of sports is but to perform at peak you need lot of rest.
