oneANDone Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Virtual clean chit for Srinivasan in Mudgal panel report 3 Sep 2014, 1812 hrs IST, gocricket staff, gocricket.com Despite several aspects of the investigation into IPL spot-fixing case yet to complete, documents procured by Times Now reveals that the former BCCI president N Srinivasan may have got a virtual clean chit by Justice Mukul Mudgal-led probe panel. Times Now, which has accessed exclusive details of the investigation report submitted by Justice Mudgal panel, understands that there is nothing in the report which would put Srinivasan into any spot of bother. In the report the panel also submitted that it has found no proof against charges that Srinivasan was involved in scuttling the CBCID's (Crime Branch Criminal Investigation Department) investigation into the IPL fixing scandal. Also, there is no evidence to the charge that he instructed MS Dhoni and other Chennai Super Kings players to fix matches. Instead, the committee was of the opinion that two officers in CBCID might have played a role in portraying a picture that N Srinivasan is trying to cause hindrance in the investigation. Documents also reveal similar findings against Srinivasan's son-in-law and CSK owner Gurunath Meiyappan. The Mudgal panel concludes that no alleged meeting took place between Meiyappan, Vikram Agarwal and Dhoni where match-fixing was discussed. The panel, in its report also submitted that there was nothing on record which shows that the International Cricket Council's Anti-Corruption Unit (ICC ACU) had informed Srinivasan about fixing. The Mudgal panel also didn't find any thing which could establish the involvement of former IPL boss Sundar Raman. Raman was allegedly involved with Bollywood star Vindu Dara Singh. However, in its interim report submitted in the Supreme Court, the panel has recommended Delhi Police to investigate Rajasthan Royals co-owner Raj Kundra's involvement in betting. The news is likely to give a huge long-term relief to Srinivasan despite the apex court not providing any immediate relief by rejecting his request of being re-instated as BCCI president. Expressing his dismay over how things have gone, former BCCI treasurer Kishore Rungta said, "With the way things have gone, I won't be surprised if his son-in-law goes scott free." Earlier on Monday, the Supreme Court of India gave Mudgal Committee another two months to finish its investigation IPL betting and match fixing controversy. Times Now is the first in foot to haunt Srini & Dhoni last year, now they themselves backtracks. Now the Nation want to know why they back pedal, will Arnab has any answers :hehe:

Nearly 500 members of experts panel (with few BCCI office bearers) and 100 reporters and 30 chief editors worked in tandem and begged Srini to resign in TV alone not to mention Daily news papers. It was Highest of harassment one can dream of. One should admire this guy for blown away this arrogant media.

I see this Panel recommending: 1. dissolving of CSK cause Meyappan bet on his own team and was a team owner/principal 2. Srini willfully lied about Meyappan's role and should be punished for it Only thing they are clutching on straws is regarding fixing allegations and they will probably declare that inconclusive.

Betting in itself is illegal, forget betting on your own team. That is NOT clutching at straws.

What makes you think that that is not wrong? As for "trapping" him - stop portraying Srini as the victim here- he is THE most crooked and self serving BCCI Prez ever - and that when BCCI has had the likes of Sharad Pawar as Prez.
