Guest Hiten.
Sreesanth, RP Singh ruled out of first Test Cricinfo staff November 20, 2007 India fast bowlers Sreesanth and RP Singh have been ruled out of the first Test against Pakistan in Delhi due to injuries. Munaf Patel has been called in as cover, according to a statement released by BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah. Sreesanth picked up a shoulder injury during the final ODI against Pakistan in Jaipur, and did not take part in practice sessions today, but the statement did not specify the nature of RP Singh's injury. Munaf Patel impressed in the Ranji match against Rajasthan when he picked up four wickets in the first innings in an extended spell of more than ten overs. Munaf last played for India in the third Test against South Africa in Cape Town in January. I guess varun has to update Indian Roster for SS Link to comment
Dhondy
That's the first Test, then. All the talk about India being favourites...so much rubbish now. The price you pay for these utterly meaningless ODIs. Link to comment
chamatkar
Damn, damn, damn... can the groundsman do miracles in one day? Turn it into a spinners track? Link to comment
coffee_rules
Sreesanth and RPS are our main test bowlers. WTF were played in a meaningless ODI. Damn BCCI. India will lose the test series. Pakistan are favs now. Link to comment
Cricketics
o no.. both of these are main bowlers.. i rate them almost same as Zaheer... infact R.P has been best for us in bowling department from past few monthz.. big loss.. ludhianvi
OMG, they were our frontline bowlers and we only have one left in Zaheer. This is a big blow to India ahead of the first Test. But how did they get injured so quickly Link to comment
Online
That is a big blow - what are our options now? back to Agarkar? :D Link to comment

Ram
A blow to India's fortunes. But i am unduly worried , the replacements we have are as good. This being India , i dont expect the fast bowlers to play a big role anyway. Link to comment
beetle
>>>but the statement did not specify the nature of RP Singh's injury. There was some mention of "side strain":whatchutalkingabout somewhere on TV...not sure.... RP didn't even play the last game.....:cry_smile:yeh kahan se injured ho gaya? Link to comment
Lurker
Bad blow for India. RPS and SS are very important for India in this series and the next. This would have been a good oppertunity for them to get in rhythm. Still may not be too terrible considering we have Zaheer and Munaf as a replacement is certainly not bad. Link to comment
Dravid
munnaaaaaaa coming to the rescueeeeeeee :D Link to comment
Hawkeye
man you guys need have to a BIG HEART. let the game atleast start before showing the white flag :banghead: Munaf patel will shine :D Moving will be a start... Real loss - Shree is a great asset in tests. Link to comment

Predator_05
Oh dear. Those were India's best Test bowlers. So i suppose the bowling lineup will be Zaheer, Munaf, Harbhajan and Kumble ? Wow. India are screwed. Prepare flat tracks and play 7 batsmen. A draw would be a good result. Link to comment
living
Play Pathan? EDIT: Maybe YK :D Link to comment
Predator_05
This test will be played at Delhi - a spinner's pitch. India will definitely play 2 spinners - you can bet your mortgage on it. Link to comment
