Probably in few weeks we might have some probable list which might come up for the squad or probably the whole actual squad. What are some of the names you really want to see for the tour. I am excited about this tour. Don't care what you think about the result would be during the tour, what do you think should be the squad or some of the players who should be definitely picked for the tour. I want to see Gambhir in the squad. Vijay played well recently and Dhawan hasn't really been any great. So for a 4 game series, it's nice to have opening options and I would reallly want to see Gambhir being part of the squad. Rahane should start the tour games at no. 5 ahead of Rohit Sharma or anyone. I hope we pick someone like Mishra as the spin option over Ashwin. Bhuvneshwar, Shami will have a good series I feel and will get better as the tour progress.

tweaker Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 There will not be major changes in the squad.Dhoni does not take overseas tests seriously .I don't think Jadhav,Samson,Bumrah,Naman,Kuldeep will get a chance under Dhoni leadership.

SLICKR392 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Yeah, Ashwin will get ahead of others 'cause of his batting. Gambhir has a brilliant LOI record in Aus, but Test, not so good. Can be part of the ODI squad but a no no in Test. Would like to give Dhawan one more series before dropping him. Kohli-Pujara better do well in the series.

Also seeing how Australia struggled against Yasir Shah you guys should consider bringing a leggie. Ashwin might score some runs but he'll give up even more without taking wickets. You have 3 bowlers in your squad. Ashwin is less than half a bowler overseas... And Bhuvi in pacy non-swinging Aus conditions is unlikely to be as effective as he was in England ... So 2.5 bowlers to take 20 wickets? Ashwin + 4 pacers is the way to go. Drop Rohit for an extra bowler - Umesh. Ashwin can more than effectively fill in for Rohit. He should be the supposed fifth bowler / sixth batsman.

We need 6 proper batsman in the team.If Ashwin has to play he has to pick wickets if he fails he'll be replaced simple.BK was our best bowler in England & can't be dropped based on assumptions that he'll not deliver in Aussie conditions.None has seen him bowl there,well if he fails Umesh will surely replace him.A team can't be picked based on guesswork & assumptions.
