With Dhoni this would never have happened. Dhoni given 10 year extension as captain. Dhoni proves it is well deserved by thrashing a hastily arranged home series against SL in February There is a strong probability of this. It is obviously easier to miss tough overseas tours. ;)

It would have been better if he was out for the whole tour though. Kohl's captaincy on display as of now is very textbook - there's hardly anything to take note.

Lets see what happens once there is a bad session/innings and Kohli does the "conventional textbook captaincy" in Test cricket. The thing I liked about Kohli is how he was ready to talk with the batsman when was at the other end. Despite his age, Kohli has been in the team for 5 years now and is pretty experienced. You should have seen the way he was speaking to Rayudu during his maiden ODI hundred. Reminds me (I don't want to start all the comparisons now!) of certain Sachin Tendulkar post 2007.
