Daniel Brettig @danbrettig So the World Cup next year will have joint winners in the event of a tie or a no result. I'm sorry but I can't agree with that... #cricket Personally find it ridiculous as well. No reserve day? No super over?

ICC isn't learning.. We already had one bad experience with the 2007 WC Final... A 38 over match that was further reduced to some 20-odd overs.... Hope we don't have another this time around

Super over isn't a great idea, particularly for a WC.... The winner of the biggest ICC tournament played over 2 months decided by 1 over that a team plays... not good.. In the event of a tie, I don't mind the concept of a joint winner, but not when it is washed out....

The alternative isn't good either is it? You'd not want a world cup winner to be decided in a 1 over game.. Even the CT final kind of lost its significance when it became a t20. so a superover would just be farcical. In case of tie they could add certain constraints like team which has lost less no. of wickets to get the same score, or more boundaries/less dot balls.

Has everyone forgot the Champions Trophy Sri Lanka and India shared year ago?
It was shared after even the reserve day was washed out. Here there is no reserve day at all

Reserve days were removed from league matches of earlier world cups because broadcasters didn't want so. Still we had reserved day for SF and finals. What happened this time? Is is same reason? ODI games shouldn't be reduced to less than 40 overs and super over is still better than having joint winners.
