Can't understand the Sri Lankan thinking

I don't get so much whining about not being prepared and why this series is untimely. in this day and age no team is ready and everyone comes unprepared for these bilateral ODIs few months before world cup and you take every chance to get more match practice and get your final XI in place. not only that you make further excuses and hide behind resting key players when they should be getting more practice. don't get the excuse to prioritise the home series against england who are pants in ODIs vs. trying hard against world champions away from home. what is better practice than actual matches against tough opponent. this series win doesn't guarantee good world cup for India but I have lost some respect for Lankans only Mahela and Matthews seemed to give a damn

I'm guessing SL don't care too much about WC finals either. The last 2 WC finals bear testimony to that. Coz the entire tournament consists of many teams , but the finals is only like a bilateral series between 2 teams. A champion and SL. I'm sure if finals involved 4 or 5 teams playing at one time, SL would be WC champs from now till kingdom come.

Lack of preparation doesn't stick considering the series is in SC and conditions SL shud be home at, one can understand if it was England or Australia coming over. SL have been thoroughly out played in every match and in every department, not only that thrashing have only got bigger after every game.

Even with their best team and best preparation they crumble against india, thats why When india loses to them in any match it is a surprise and shock.

I wouldn't be so critical of the Lankans. They are not a strong team but they managed to end up second best in 2 consecutive world cups. That in itself is an achievement IMO - like winning silver medal in the Olympics, Asian games etc.
