Batting avg of 44+ in ODIs already with 44 wickets under his belt within a year. Career batting avg of 39 and 64 wickets so far. (2012-2014) Transformation from a bowling all rounder to genuine all rounder who can win matches by himself similar to how Shane Watson started? CA would be fools to ignore this talent like they did initially in the recently concluded ODI series.

Trying to separate the 'genuine' all-rounders from batters who can bowl a bit or bowlers who can bat a bit, which is dime a dozen these days. Proper genuine all-rounders are far and few I guess. Robin Peterson -- NOT an all-rounder. Bowler who can bat a bit. Ashwin -- NOT an all-rounder. Despite his test 100, I still consider him a bowler who can bat well from time to time. Not consistent though. Bhuvi -- NOT an all-rounder. Bowler who can bat a bit. Not a total langur like Chris Martin. UV -- Genuine all-rounder. Can easily bowl his full quota in ODIs. Jaddu - Genuine all-rounder. Definitely can bat and win matches on his day...his avg withstanding. Also bowls full quota.

Marsh and Faulker are all rounders whose batting abilities are not tested / required often. They are power hitters and used according to the match situation

maniac Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Faulkner is a poor bowler....Yes he picks up wickets but I have seen him not complete his quota most times....He is Kluesner with the bat and Jade Dernbach with the ball at this point of time.....If he improves his bowling a little,he could be the new age Kluesner in this world cup being played on Aussie pitches
