That is the fastest ball. Not average pace. If Aaron has ave pace of 153 - you would all collapse from joy. Yadav ave is 138-142. Has quicker ball, yes, but he is just sharp. Not tearaway quick.

Lol brainac, look at the first 10 overs of the first ODI its having average pace and fastest delivery. Thats first spell in an ODI from both these bowlers is averaging 90+ miles :cantstop:

Added the recent ODI completed Indian bowling innings without player break downs or resting. Thats 2 fast bowlers operating in the minimum. I am not posting corresponding SL stats from the game in order not to be rude. Lets say except D Prasad in one game where he was very wayward and got clobbered, others were just trundling. j0jfup.jpg262li6c.jpg

Didn't you guys used to laugh at the Pakistanis for their pace obsession? It was just jealously as as soon as you have more then medium pacers - you have become them. :hysterical: Malinga was as fast as Yadav.

The Australians , who have seen pace all their lives and are our opponents in this series, are excited about Aaron and Umesh. ( read the linked article in the first post ). It seems they have potential to be good bowlers. Both their careers have been marred by multiple injuries. Both have been quite good in the few test matches they have played so far. Umesh has a strike rate of 46. It is not just that they have pace .... they have the potential to be big time wicket takers in tests. Nowadays , Umesh is swinging the ball consistently between 138 to 148 k. Seaming the ball too. That is not common. Aaron is seriously quick ... can frighten batsmen .... and can take wickets. Shami is bowling quick too and taking truckloads of ODI wickets. Ishant too is taking lots of wickets and getting steep bounce at lively pace. Bowling accurately also. Bhuvi is very accurate and getting swing. Our pace attack is looking good in the last six months .... with wicket takers, serious pace, bounce, accuracy, movement. Why would we not be excited ?

Considering the fun poked at others here when they obsessed with pace - and now for you to adopt identical behaviour is amusing. Truly Indians and Pakistanis are 1 people. :hysterical:
Listen souraschilli just go back to that place on earth which can't be found even on google maps.

People are "excited" about pace prospects, not "obsessed". But, I am sure that is difficult to comprehend being educated from Kandy.

With an express pace bowler, even when he is whacked around, a wicket is always around the corner. The odd ball that hits 150kph can surprise the very best and settled of batsmen. That is why the excitement with genuine pace. Two such pacers in the same side is a mouth watering prospect, batsmen can never relax while facing such bowlers. Pace bowlers should bowl pace first, then fine tune line and length. Else why else would you call them "pace" bowlers? Yes, these bowlers have a lot to prove, but what is the problem in getting excited with them right now?

if DHoni captains first test than we could all get a SHOCK and we could see SHammi, BHuvi and ISHANT in the eleven along with JADDU/Ashwin. i strongly beleive that if Kohli captains he would select VARUN and UMESH for SUre and may be ISHANT ahaead of BHUVI or Shammi. i guess Adelaide is not that fast so a 4 pronged Pace Attack may not be picked ..it could be 3 pacers and one Spinner now.
