IMO that Sadhvi deliberately made those communal comments... That too during the current Parliament session... There is a hardline group, backed by RSS, who want to undermine Modi govt. When the opposition had no real issue to corner the Govt. This was like an opportunity presented on a platter.... Modi+Shah combo now need to increase the heat on all the opposition parties using the CBI which now has a new chief....

Even as Trinamool Congress on Thursday staged a walkout in Parliament to protest against the derogatory remarks by Union minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, back home in Bengal, the party was mum on its leader's culpability at a public forum where she used rank bad language.
At a public rally in Jalpaiguri on Wednesday, Mamata had used crass words replete with invectives and accompanied by gestures that were downright vulgar. Upset with CPM for approaching PM Narendra Modi on the Saradha probe, Mamata had said, "Nijera 34 bochhor khamatai chhilo. Kichhu korte pareni, aar jara korche tader bamboo diye berachhe. Bamboo jangale hoi, ghar bari toirir kaje lage, jane na bamboo jake tara kore she palate path pai na. Amader chamkale amra garjai..." (They were in power for 34 years, but could do nothing. Instead they are trying to figure out how to shove bamboos up the ... of those who are doing it)"

Mamta is being incredibly foolish. BJP was, and still is, a very small party in West Bengal but by giving so much attention to their activities in Bengal, Mamta is herself making BJP into the main opposition party. There's still a lot of time left for assembly elections in WB so every time Mamta attacks BJP, it will only strengthen BJP, especially since Left is still in shock over their defeat in Lok Sabha.

How her party makes noise in LS against BJP MP but keeps quiet about their leader.

Sadhvi Jyoti is crucial to the BJP plan in UP 2017 there is just no way she will be removed. Both her and Uma Bharati are attempts to dominate the Bundelkhand region and monopolise the 20-25 seats there for the assembly.

She apologized. Move on. Opposition overdoing it by stalling Parliament, considering the choicest abuses hurled by them. B4FfcOqIYAAhrTR.jpg

Even the Admins on ICF ban members for using such language but the Govt still hasn't taken any action against a minister for using such language. In fact now its been said that she is being targeted because of her caste. Pathetic and disgraceful.
Nails it.

Ram Vilas Paswan, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi say Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti is being targeted as she is a Dalit :hysterical: Well played BJP. The Haramzaadas in opposition should get a dose of their own medicine. :two_thumbs_up:
Not dose of opposition's medicine but doing what they have been taught by their mukhiya. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/news/Eye-on-UP-Bihar-Modi-seizes-on-Priyanka-jibe-to-pull-out-caste-card/articleshow/34752366.cms Eye on UP, Bihar? Modi seizes on Priyanka jibe to pull out caste card
DOMARIAGANJ/LUCKNOW: With the Lok Sabha battle entering the caste-dominated stretch of eastern UP and northern Bihar, BJP's PM candidate Narendra Modi on Tuesday flashed his OBC card by seizing upon Priyanka Gandhi accusing him of "neech rajniti (low politics)", to allege that he was being targeted for being a "lower caste" person. "Taking birth in a lower caste is not a crime and such castes should not be insulted," Modi said while addressing a rally at Domariaganj in UP. "You can insult Modi as much as you like, you can hang him. But do not insult the lower castes. I was attacked and dubbed a tea seller as if it I had committed a crime. Questions were raised on how he (Modi) can run the country. But I have sold tea, not the country," he said. Modi did not jettison his "development" plank, tweeting that his "neech" politics had the potential to turn "Bharat Mata" into a strong and prosperous nation, and help the country "get rid of 60 years of misrule and politics of vote bank". His playing on "neech" was seen as a deviation from his focus on development agenda, and his desire to play to the caste factor in the final two phases of polling. Congress accused Modi of distorting Priyanka's statement, with Kapil Sibal saying that the BJP had twisted the remark. "What she said and what is being attributed to her are different. Modi is generally incapable of appreciating such distinctions and sometimes, he doesn't want to," he said. Addressing the Domariaganj rally, Modi said, "You said 'neech rajniti'... They (Gandhis) are not able to come to terms with the truth, so they said it is politics of a lower class person. I cannot deny I am from a lower caste, but it is not a crime to be lower caste... I can assure the nation my politics is not low level." "Is it a sin to be born in a lower caste, have I done anything wrong?" he thundered, as the crowd shouted "no" in unison. Modi's opponents are looking up to SP, BSP and RJD to put a spanner in his works in eastern UP and northern Bihar where caste loyalty remains formidable. Priyanka's allegation was a retaliation against Modi's charge in Amethi on Monday that Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia had humiliated senior Congress leaders like T Anjaiah and Sitaram Kesri. She alleged that Modi had engaged in "low politics" and that Amethi voters would avenge the insult to her "martyr" father. Modi fired back by tweeting that he was being targeted because of his OBC background. "Since I come from a low caste background , they cannot describe my politics as anything but low," he said. Even as Congress alleged that Modi had distorted Priyanka's comment, the BJP machinery got busy protesting against what they called a caste insult, emphasizing that the Hindi word "neech" has traditionally been used as a pejorative against backwards. Leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley made the point in Varanasi, while party spokespersons Ravishankar Prasad and Shahnawaz Hussain sought to ram it home by addressing media in Kolkata and Delhi respectively. The campaign so far has seen Modi subtly using his credentials as the first "backward" with a real prospect of becoming PM. In January, while addressing the BJP national council, he capitalized on former Union minister Manishankar Aiyar's "chaiwala" putdown to say that the language actually smacked of the elite against backwards like him. He and his tacticians have, however, desisted from overt projection, recognizing his support among upper castes as well as that the development agenda has broader appeal. BJP sources believe that the game plan has worked so far as Modi being a 'Ghanchi Teli' has helped the party draw in more OBCs without putting off upper castes or the urban middle class who are drawn towards his focus on growth and promise to script a turnaround.

Extreme reactions. The thing that the media or the opposition DOES NOT realize it is that by doing this they are only making Modi stronger by consolidating the non-Minority vote.

A dalit sadhvi. What a masterstroke. Namo is taking libtards to school and they don't even realize. Next 10 years are going to be entertaining to say the least.

Thinking about the incident again.......I strongly feel that the Sadhvi's comments were a deliberate ploy........Congress were actually, for once, trying to counter the BJP on their policies (a couple of legitimate issues could've been raised) with their u-turn book........Now because of her comments, the opposition are exposing their idiocy to the whole world by disrupting the parliamentary proceedings........the irony is that clowns like Derek O'Brien, whose party members have made some absolutely horrific comments in the past, are disrupting the parliament session.......petty politics by the opposition.......

While this is happening at the state level (BJP ones)

After Rajasthan & Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra the third BJP state to loosen up land, labour laws
http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/politics-and-nation/after-rajasthan-madhya-pradesh-maharashtra-the-third-bjp-state-to-loosen-up-land-labour-laws/articleshow/45378629.cms?utm_source=contentofinterest&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=cppst Haryana is probably next. While it would be great if things could get passed at centre (would speed up the process), things are moving. By disrupting, congress and sickular parties are simply writing their obituaries. Namo has all the time in the world especially since oil prices have come down so much, inflation should be brought under control soon. (2016 targets call for 4%)

Yes, Priyanka ji can call Modi a neech since he is backward caste, its totally justified and Modi should take it lied down like a good backward caste person.

Remember Sushil Kumar Shinde ' date=' who does not need any reason to bring out his dalit card.[/quote'] Would say not much difference with him and Modi. Shinde brought dalit card just to play and this guy brings OBC and chaiwala card.
