Realizing the importance of Bhuvi?

Times like this makes you realize the importance of Bhuvi I guess. Yes, he has no pace, but at least he Can swing it both ways and bowl good line and length and be economical. Rubbish bowling from our bowlers so far.

Yep on Indian Pitches(Dry and Spinning),Green Tracks and Flat Pattas...Bhuvi is a must....SO only on Bouncy and Quick pitches(which are too far in between) there is a case for not having him but having said that his lower order batting might cover up for it...so yes missing Bhuvi

^ +1 Still bad bowling. If we had bowled better line and length this could have been better
The South Africans with their immaculate line and length still gave up 550 runs on this pitch.

You guys change your minds each hour. You hype a guy - he does badly, then you say "oh should have played x or y". :hysterical:
He was our no.1 bowler in England. Aussies always struggle against swing rather than pace or bounce. Kulasekara did pretty well in Australia.

One of those "sweet" moments when I agree with you. The player who doesn't play becomes a world changing player.

So, no counter argument to Aussies struggle against swing rather than pace and bounce? Wasn't kulasekera their no.1 bowler for Lankans in Australia Last time they toured?

He would certainly have done better than Shami and Aaron in terms of ER, but doubt score would have been any better. Remember he played those England tests too where they had scored big. Him being there did not make much of a difference.

I strongly get this feeling that the young Indian cricketers don't really have that passion for test matches.... most probably because of far easier and more lucrative forms of cricket opening up. Perhaps even the players are not fully aware of this consciously. But the tough preparation required, both physical and mental, for difficult away tours is not taken. Test matches, especially if they are played in away conditions, can be very tough. Anything short of a tremendous will to succeed will not bring success. For the last few years .... this is missing. No matter which player we pick .... unless this mindset changes ..... there won't be much change. We still have a better chance in short series where the timespan of such mental application is short.

We never had great fast bowlers. Our bowlers were always like that. I dont agree that they do not the passion to play.
