Dhoni doesn't even dive for many catches. But something like that largely goes unnoticed compared to a missed stumping.

Saha is very good at catching the ball. Just one stumping miss does not make a player bad. Nobody sane wanted Dhoni's removal after he dropped his first catch in a test match.

That was an easy stumping and Saha was caught napping. But lets give him more matches (ofcourse that wont happen with MSD), but after we give him more matches - we can figure out if he is a better keeper for spinners and pacers alike.

Miles ahead of Dhoni is wicket keeping. On D1, everything fell in the center of his gloves. Was diving too. THe catch of Haddin is what is expected from test match wicketkeepers. Dhoni in Eng was abysmal. He needs a break from Wktkeeping, he can play as a regular bat if he can prove his batting.

there is nothing special about Saha, only gripe against dhobi is he is the captain, otherwise he is best WK in the country. If Dhobi is ousted as captain he will be in my playing eleven every time.

And u are right India's first line replacement choices including Saha, Ojha, DK are not long term investments. They are almost as old as Dhoni, and for the endurance that Dhoni has its most likely he will outlast them as a player!! For me the best option at the moment is Samson. The issue is his state side doesn't use him as a wk because they want him to focus on his batting. BCCI needs to nurture the next generation of keepers. Before Dhoni this was India's weak link and we went through a number of keepers unable to settle on any of them.
