kosingh Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 If there was veggie food available why did the BCCI management let them go outside the stadium in the middle of a match with no guarantee when they were going to return ? Also if that other post about them being non-veggies is true then this whole story is real shady. IIRC Raina was under suspicion of fixing right ? One of the reports said that the players were accompanied by Ravi Shastri and also a member of the ICC anti corruption unit. My guess would be that they were simply looking for something more oily/spicy/unhealthy.
beetle Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 If you are on a long tour...getting your basic staple diet is important. Even if both of them are non vegetarians.....one can't have that everyday. If Indian Board makes sure their players are looked after well.....then they should reciprocate in kind. Indian food is not so rare rare.If they can't provide...they should at least allow them to get their own. give poor fast bowler his daal chaawal.:((
Cricket_Hacker Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 bhuvi also veggie...not with the team?
zep1706 Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Acc to Harsha Bhogle veg food was available' date=' roasted vegetables, pasta, yoghurt, fruit juices, etc and in his opinion it was delicious. But Ishant and Raina didn't like the food.[/quote'] There you go. Just as I told before it was probably an issue of not liking the food. They need to be told to STFU and get on with it.

Its their basic staple diet as well. Are you willing to be consistent in that regard? How about Australians eating pork in Pakistan?
coffee_rules Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Come back to India please. This is embarrassing as much as the field performances.

AmreekanDesi Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 trust these guys to whine for nothing and embarrass the country. Also if that's such an issue take your own cook. In the 2010-11 Ashes tour, England took their own cooks, nutritionists etc
AmreekanDesi Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Problem with out players is that the ywant tikkas and naans during the lunch break. Saw a documentary once where they took inside the dressing rooms for lunch in a test match and our heroes were gorging on naans, cokes, rice, curry etc. Surely that cant be a good thing
Gollum Posted December 22, 2014 Author Posted December 22, 2014 Off topic but fun info: One of my friend's dad was in charge of catering in Vizag during that ODI match in 2005 between India and Pakistan(Dhoni 148 match) http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/64939.html During the break Dravid,Ganguly,Sachin etc had Marie Gold biscuit,Chai, rasamalai ,banana, egg, grapes etc and were very tense throughout. Pakis were eating like sloths. They had Biryani,Naans, Tandoori Chicken, Kebabs,Keema,Gosht,Korma,Nihari etc. His dad couldn't figure out how they could even play after so much of food intake. He said that Dravid had 1 banana,1 biscuit while Inzamam had about 20-30 Naans, 5 plates Biryani and the Pakis were literally siting around forming a huddle and the noise of them tearing the meat could be heard from outside. At one point the staff thought that they would run out of food. Inzi after finishing his food started feasting on about 10 different flavors ice cream scoops and only when it was his turn to bat did he stop eating(got run out in that match :giggle:). It seems Inzi was a jovial, easy going guy, friendly guy .Younis Khan was also a top bloke(did not play that match it seems) and thanked every Indian staff member for their hospitality after the match. The rest were aloof and never mingled with the Indians unlike these 2. Afridi,Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Yousuf were the most arrogant making tasteless remarks about Indians instead of showing basic courtesy.

kosingh Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 I`m surprised that the players were not allowed to bring outside food into the stadium, MS Dhoni didn't take his team and storm out of the stadium to a different stadium #biryani
