Test match wicket-keepers

I think it is fairly clear that Saha will get a long run in the side after Sydney. Naman Ojha was briefly with the Test squad in Australia. Who else is there who can realistically be considered a challenger for the spot and who should be given a run in your view. Personally I have always liked what I have seen of Saha and am backing him with his keeping skills and general decent athleticism.

Uthappa. can Open batting and also keep and has experience.
Not in FC. Gowtham is better , rescued team from difficult situations many times in last 3 years.

Naman Ojha is like 32!! India's next test is 7 months away' date=' we need to be preparing long term prospects.[/quote'] Even saha is 30.it's fine, what we want is a good wkt keeper 1st

Maybe the best way to approach this problem is (A) who is the best keeper in the indian ranjis. Top 3 Then of those top 3 (B) who is the best batsman among them Using this criteria Saha and Ojha are the ones. How is Smit Patel getting along? I remember him from the under 19s

There is serious dearth of good young keepers in domestics. Saha is the best we have. Smit Patel isnt even in Gujarat Ranji team. Did play one dayers. Goswami also did well to an extent for Bengal. Kedar Devdhar from Baroda is another one.

Login to ICF after a few months and see Ojha and Samson being touted around as keepers!
ojha toured australia on A tour and scored hundreds and did well and i think that is the reason samson is still a rookie but if he improves keeping he can be decent in future

And that's the basic problem - both are crappy wicketkeepers like Dhoni. What the team needs is a good wicketkeeper who can contribute 20-30 runs away, not a goalkeeper who pisses his pants and does not attempt catches.
