He is one of the very few sensible Paki guys. And also Shami and Aaron have just started out. To say they "turned out" like something would be too early.

Tridibans_16 Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Wasim Vikram is already an Indian albeit with a Pakistani Passport. He is associated with KKR since 4-5 years. He will be the best bet as we need our coach to be bowler friendly. As it is , our batsmen hardly need any coaching.

Well I don't think the criticism they are getting is unwarranted. Shami has played enough to improve as a bowler, yet you see him do the same mistakes again and again. And tbh the attitude just isnt there. At least Aaron fights fire with fire, he seems the one with most potential to me. Shami seems like Ishant v2, who is okay with batsman smashing him all around. Dhoni always suggested Zaheer to become bowling coach after retirement but that is not gonna come soon as Zaheer is probably looking for a comeback himself.

There are Indian coaches like TA Shekhar and Subroto Bannerjee who are pretty good. Bannerjee remodelled Umesh after 2010 when he was Vidarbha coach.

They may be good wrt to certain bowlers or as domestic coaches .But we need a bowling coach who has experience in overseas conditions and performance to back it up

England and Aus bowling coaches David Sekar and Troy Cooley are no big names. It is all about understanding the trade and making sure that basics are strong.

Allan Donald and Shane Bond also has excellent record as bowling coaches .It may have on succeeded on few occasions with other teams but clearly not for us We have picked regularly no names as bowling coaches who have always failed miserably. So why go back to the mistake again and again and expect different result? Also David Sekar formed his reputation from the Ashes win and he is an Aussie with local knowledge . How exactly Bharat Arun or TA Sekar help our bowlers fund the correct lengths in Australia or England if they themselves have zero credibility or experience in these conditions?

Which ever place you play, basics are same. Good length is good length is good length everywhere. I dont see any difference in length whether you play in England, Australia, or South Africa. You need to hit that same 6-7 meter mark at both places consistently to be successful. You need to hit different lengths at different places is just a rhetoric excuse given for failure of the bowlers.
