Shami ended up with the best average but anyone who watched the series could see that ashwin and Ishant were our best 2 bowlers this series. I think Aaron deserves a longer chance. Bhuvi too.

vishalvirsingh Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I reiterate that Selectors got it very correct when picking the 5 Fast bowlers for Australian tour bhuvi ishant varun umesh and shammi these guys are way ahead of the Sixth competitor that can challenge them. in the wc squad they missed picking varun and picked BINNY - I guess that would be bcos they consider Binny as an all rounder.. Les see if he performs. Varun should have been played in the tri series at least.. mohit n kulkarni should not have been picked ahead of Varun Aroon. Varun is a Special Talent.

ATM he is facing problems in landing the ball outside off consistently. He invariably bowls one that is too straight and the batsmen are able to score on the on side. Also he seems to be someone who can bowl the yorker at good pace.

MK55 Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Well he hasn't done well in the tests as well. IMO he's got a better chance in the ODIs. He can be a wicket taking option in the middle overs. He is always going to create chances with his attacking approach.

It's a risk playing him, say for a knock out match, we can't really hope that he'll win you the match but might lose you that by conceding too many runs.
