Manju said in commentary said that Bhuvi 's average(or top?) pace in 1st two Tests in England was 134 whereas it was 126 in Sydney. Either way its a big drop and can only means he was unfit
No. It was not. His average pace was 79 mph, around 127kph. In England. He barely clocked 130 plus. 134 must be his quickest.

^ Bhuvi has had only one full Test series away from home where he did pretty damn good. Why don't you post that as well? The bias!
That doesnt matter because Shami and Umesh both have better stats at home than overseas. Umesh has played 7 tests overseas, BK 6 overseas, Shami 10.

I am talking about Bhuvi specifically. I know how good both Shami and Yadav have been back home. Might have criticized Yadav but never asked him to be dropped from the side. Shami at times can be quiet frustrating.

BK is just the kind of bowler you might want in t20s,odis but not in tests. In tests he need ideal conditions- overcast, greentops. But his batting is definitely more suitable for tests. He can be a top-class bowler in t20s - since a little bit of swing early on with the new ball, can halt the tempo of opposition's batsmasn, who always be searching for quick runs. Also 4 overs spell will alow him to bowl at 135+ks, Which we all saw in IPL. He will always be decent in odis, on his day can deliver some match winning performance, but will be smashed around on pattas. In Tests I don't think he can survive, will always be mediocre everywhere barring England, but might play few more matches since there are not many worthy competitors.

Bit offtopic- But I think varun aaron can be a top test bowler and will be better than yadav in India. He is good at reversing the ball and with his pace he will be terrifying. Those who have seen his 1st spell in Australia's 2nd innings at Adelaide will agree with me. He was bowling at menancing pace and reversing the ball, and the Australian looked clueless. Was very unlucky not to get the wickets he deserved. I would say it was poor from Kohli not to consider him for Sydney test, since there was a lot of assistance for reverse swing.

Because home and overseas performances will eventually balance out average like in case of Shami and Umesh.

I have n't watched the sydney match but many claimed that Bhuvi runup was shorter than usual. Is it true?? It means he was fit but yet to get his match-fittness. Even when yadav recovered from his back injury, he started practicising with a short run up, and slowly got back to his usual runup after 20-odd days. So I believe the team management took a huge risk with Bhuvi by playing him at sydney. His body is still acclimatizing to the rigour of international matches, and is not ready IMO.

-- Have I posted specific series stats for any of the bowlers. Why would I do it just for Bhuvi ? How is that bias ? -- I have specifically pointed out how economical Bhuvi has been in both the posts. That is a big positive and a compliment you know. Why did you choose to ignore that ? -- This is the comparison of the overall stats of our 3 leading pacers who have played similar number of matches . Pointed out what that shows. Pasts stats are not fully indicative of future performances. Take it for what it is.You are the one who is showing bias. -- If you want to go into details ...Bhuvi has played 50% of his test matches outside the subcontinent. That is the ratio he will have in the long run too. Why did you miss that point ? -- Shami and maybe even Umesh, are far more potent when there is reverse swing. Shami has, played 83 % of his matches outside the subcontinent. That may have adversely affected his test stats too. I did not point this out also. Why did you not find this objectionable... but just the part about Bhuvi. Who is being biased here ? -- I have clearly stated that Umesh has been the worst ODI bowler. Also stated that the test averages of all 3 are not good. Is this bias against Bhuvi ? Fact is ....all our pacers are too condition dependant. None are that good so far. They have to improve. We better accept that.

If Bhuvi is a Test All rounder, what would you call Ryano and Mitch Johnson? let him just be a bowler who can bat sensibly. he is not in the league where he can be selected for his batting a la Watson & Marsh.

Yep that's unfair I think bhuvi has to be support bowler in certain conditions and main in certain cannot play him as one of 3 bowlers in Australia but can see him doing well in South Africa if pitches are good . I do not think he wanted to be biased he made a good post and you can add more details yourself . I feel calling him biased was little harsh specially agate rhe put in so much time in that post ..
I am strongly in favour of playing Bhuvi in every ODI. Because of his economy rate and batting ability. He should play in all tests where the ball is expected to swing...in England and in the venues in South Africa, NZ and Zimbabwe where the ball swings. In other tests it has to be a case by case decision based on the form of other bowlers, the venue and team composition.

Pretty much agree I want him to play every match as bow,ign all rounder along with ashwin and 3 other quicks but that is not gonna happen ..

Jus see this last game bhuvi easily looked solid and ashwin scored 50 and at home they are even better .l

^ If Saha or anyone else can be a decent batsman + keeper in tests ....and Ashwin and Bhuvi come in at 7 and 8. Then 3 more bowlers....that would be ideal. Rohit, Raina etc. are anyway wasted at 6.
Yep need a good keeper who can bat ...it will solve everything :(

Rohit batting at 6 saved us in last two matches we played at home. So, #6 batsman is very important.

His average in Sydney in ist innings was 77.6, 2nd 76.1. Compare it with England where conditions are better for fast bowlers than Aus. His speed in 1st innings at Lords 78.6, 2nd innings 77.2. So, there is at a best a 1 mph difference, not huge and that might well be due to hot conditions in Aus. BK needs to fill in. He is too weak to be a fast bowler's load. He is underweight at least by 10 kilo, need to gain some muscles to sustain the rigors of test cricket. It will help him increase his pace too and become a better bowler. As a bowler who can bat, India need him but for that he will need to take a step further.
